pikeys dog Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Was this the 45 pressed up in aid of a cancer charity? If so i hope your profit will be donated a similar way. Presumably he'll do this when you return all of your 'promotion copy' / 'demo copy' 45s back to the record companies they came from in the first place?
Dekka Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I'd like to know what makes this a 'boot' Any one can press a record in retrospect. It's a Boot
pikeys dog Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Any one can press a record in retrospect. It's a Boot So does that make Kent singles boots? They are all pressed in retrospect.
Modernsoulsucks Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I dont know much about the release of this 45 but if Pikey is of the opinion that it's not a boot then that's fine with me. If it were a charity single then monies raised would have been predicated on it's initial sale and not on subsequent re-sales. As some have pointed out it seems unfair to single out this one sale for criticism. I can't imagine there is anyone on here who hasn't sold a boot at some time or bought a 45 for peanuts off some unsuspecting seller and made a large profit. Unless Deadwax you are intimately aware of the seller's views and actions when it comes to giving to charity then assuming he's lost his moral compass is a step too far. Im locking this but feel free to raise the general subject in another forum. ROD [Forum Moderator]
