i seemed to have drawn a blank on this one so just spoke to Richard Varley, DJ at Drax.

Richard apparently got this track via a boot complilation cd from usa -unfortunally no sleeve notes

Christ almighty. its the millie jackson vocal, slowed down a tad wth a remixed backing track

technology and all that. open your lugholes. if it turns up on a 70`s lp i`ll stand the drop of york

Now that the subject of Harold Melvin has been raised, in the pre Teddy Pendergrass days (ie pre 1969), was Harold Melvin the primary lead vocalist of the group or did he always have another front man taking lead vocals?

Furthermore, was Harold the vocalist on Get Out ?

vocalist on get out was a guy called john atkins, dont know if he was the regular vocalist for harold melvin at that time.

Re the Harold Melvin track, got it sent to me a while back, thought at the time it was a bit iffy.... was sure it was Millie Jackson with a pitch change, so put it thru Cool Edit and low and behold I hear Millie's voice!!! here's the track i was sent originally. Dont know if this is the one ya talkin' bout

ps. Harold and Teddy deffo different guys!!! much as I loved Teddy's voice, there was times when Harold far out shone him imho.
