LMFAO-"there was a place in Stafford"

Oh yeah-nearly forgot about that!

Brilliant that bit was.

All you lot were wasting your time between 1981 and the mid 90s when the scene was 'kicked off' by the 25th anniversary.

Where can I listen to this, this Russ fellah is always good for a laugh

He just makes shit up. In the opening 30 seconds he states Dave Godin went the Wheel in 1967 and after hearing the uptempo music he decided to call it Northern Soul!

Do people actually believe anything he says? Even in 1973 he couldn't lie straight in bed...

Thats not the point Rod, my point is, that the interview above is full of inacuracies, its up there for anyone to hear & many will just accept these things as 'true'. Im not even sure he means to do this, I think he probably believes it himself now...such a shame...

Russ

I can't see an interview on this thread, I'm using an iPad, has that got something to do with why I cant access an interview?

Nope, not showing it on my iPad, from what I can see not worth getting the laptop out for.

Cheers

I never went to the Casino, I was too young and living in Ireland at the time. However, speaking as an outsider I believe that Wigan Casino would not have existed in the way everyone loves/hates without Winstanly's influence.

Discuss?

Sorry mate, didnt mean to cut you off like that. Plenty to talk about regarding RW during the Wigan years, like Rod says at the time he didnt stand out to me as being particulary poor. Searling was obviously miles better but RW played a major part in shaping the whole thing which was great!
