King Bee Records in Chorlton, run by DJ and promoter Les Hare. Has lots of boxes of stuff - originals, pressings , British etc. Good selection, with a record player handy to play stuff at your will. Some nice prices in the main, but some stuff may be a bit over-priced (where isn't it these days!). Bought loads of stuff from here over the years. Well worth a visit - own website for directions etc.

Good Luck!

Agree - was in there Monday. Paul you can spend a day in there and a day in Beating Rhythm as well.

Beats 2 days in Blackpool

VOx Pop (round the corner from Beatin Rhythm) and downstairs at Vinyl Exchange are also worth a look for albums. Some of it's reissued stuff but you still can find some nice things.

Again round the corner from Beatin....FAT CITY RECORDS  for the more funky among you :boxing:

Yes a good call on King Bee and Beatin Rhythm, the better known shops for rare black music...Ask at the counter at Vox pop for some of the better stuff, they have plenty but not really on show....Did not have the Duke down as a funky guy :boxing: ,yes Fat city have a good selection of underground tunes on the modern(not 70s) side..All these sit in the northern quarter apart from King Bee and there are a few more there too for second hand and new release stuff..Happy shopping...

i am not biased :wicked: les is a good friend but i find he is probably one of the cheapest dealers around and he is willing to negotiate on his prices.

is that the one clive the skinhead runs?

Defo King Bee for me. Les is a really nice guy and his prices are right. You will not be disappointed, have been dealing with him for years.
