This is a great clip from the 1972 Wattstax concert, included because of the brilliant audience participation and the dancing, not particularly for Rufus' "Funky Chicken"! Please have a look - it seems to me that once they get onto that field it's like they've forgotten that anything else matters!

I have the dvd of this and when we were in China my wife showed it to her history of fashion class, it inspired two of them to design a clothing line based on the fashions of that time for their degree.

I got a couple of cool shirts out of it too.

Jobs a good un.

Highlights of the movie for me is the Staple singers, Issac Hayes, and Richard Pryiors hilairious commentry.

Reminds me of the time we went to see wattstax at a little theatre in Memphis...it was the first time the whole thing was ever shown in a theatre....supposedly a big event....a Saturday night......and we were the only ones there!
