Stuart maconie played it on Radio 2 this afternoon as his northern spot record

top bloke is our stuart. . he should have more regular spots on radio 2. plays some crackin stuff contrary to the northern bits he spins .

can i just say that ruby andrews has never charted (on these shores at least) and i would also like to add that as a lover of this scene and music through four decades and an attendee of most major venues in that timespan i for one consider ruby andrews (just lovin you) to be a surefire timeless classic! as an occasional dj with IMHO a reasonable playbox for all soul nights (and niters) if i was invited to play a set ANYWHERE and was asked by a paying customer to play 'ruby' i would'nt think twice! we are all entitled to our tastes and opinions and as a rare poster on this site i hope you dont mind me giving you mine.

It was booted on R.I.P EM records. I'm looking at one now!!

You can get it on the Sevens label for about a tenner, but the original on Zodiac will set you back £100 - £150 depending on condtion, i reccomend the original as there is nothing like owning the real mccoy.

tis a chart record anyroad #48 soul chart in,t US. sold 30,000 copies o the blighter. still if anybody wants to pay 150 quid for it tis up 2 them .
