Tony Clayton a convicted, registered,  Paedophile just died  and yet people on here and on "I Went To Nottingham Oddfellows" FB page are eulogising the man!

What is the point of having forums unless people tell it like it is, without being locked out. You cannot be liable for pointing out that he was a predatory Paedophile who ruined some peoples lives.

Who cares if he played the best soul tune ever heard or was good or bad DJ? Some have even posted on FB that he was a "True Gentleman". If thats the state of honesty and reality on this scene then it is doomed.

I am truly shocked not by his death but by the death of soulful honesty and empathy for those who were abused by him!

The thread on here regarding the death was locked after a complaint about the thread from a member

After discussion with the rest of the site team it was felt nothing would be gained by leaving it open and the best action by the site itself would be to close the thread

There was no cover up or dishonest intent, the act of closing this thread was simple moderation

Just to back up what Mike has stated (as was part of the discussions on what to do)

A complaint came through, we looked at it, there was absolutely no mention of hiding anything for the sake of the site, just thought to lock it was the sensible thing to do.

Thanks for clarifying that both of you and sorry if my comments came across as accusatory. I am just shocked by some of the praise he is getting. Once guy on FB wrote "Whatever people say about Tony, he was a great DJ"........just moronic commentaries really and totally insensitive.
