His voice reminded me of Frankie Vance... But then he was located West Coast where he recored his 2 Revue 45's with Frank Wilson.

Well damn me. I was only saying this morning, in private messaging with @wilxy that 12 or 13 years ago on Russ Winstanley's radio show, it was discussed, and most of the big Motown names had been discounted as being the male singer, alongside Tammi, and that there was always a rumour that it was a member of the Songwriting or production team.
