This is meant to light hearted, so don't take offence if you're a scooterist...

I've been thinking about buying a scooter for while now (to rekindle my scooterboy days and plus i've finally got a garage), maybe even do a restoration again.

Anyway i bought Scootering magazine the other day for the first time in about ten years, mainly for the dealers and ads, and was amazed by the letters page. The scootering scene seems to have all the same issues as the rare soul scene. One letter was complaining about returnee mods from the 60s, another was from a returnee from the 80s saying it was never too late to get back into it, another letter was about a 'fragmented' scene with open arguments between mods, skinheads and scootboys 'scooterboys are an embarrassment' said one bloke, another letter was about the way the scene was dying with no new blood (sound familiar?).

Scooterists (mods, scooterboys etc..) seem to have all the same problems we have on their scene. Nice to know we're not the only ones always slagging each other off.

Mikey - It's probably because you'd look like a proper c*nt with a mohawk in your thirties but you can get away with a nice suit, tie and a pocket square (well, most people can, I just can't be arsed changing)
