Track ID please!

Hi there,

Hoping everyone's expert ears  can help identify this track please. My brother in law has been trying to find out the name of this track from on an old mix tape he has from back in the early 90s of 70's soul and funk . I’ve exhausted all options trying to find the name of it, Shazam says nothing, lyric searches are bring up nothing either and I thought if anyone could ID it , it would be here! It's driving us  mad! Here's a rip from the tape , bad quality unfortunately which hasn't helped on the lyrics front. I think one of the main lines sounds like "  my still face in the mirror is looking out at me". The two links from the brief rip are below, thanks very much!
