They were being sold by Brooklyn Born for $50 buy it now for months. I've got no argument with Tim but just because these have got bell sound stamps on doesn't make them any less dodgy in my opinion
January 25, 200718 yr hi pete ive not seen a yellow one in the flesh, are they "bell sound " stamped ?, i used to have one of the blue ones in the 80's, & to be honest i had my doubts about it, but the fact that they didnt turn up in great quantity led me to believe that maybe they could be genuine, i remember andy dyson telling me at the time that a box had been found by anglo american
January 25, 200718 yr Pete, this has been covered before Im sure. I have a blue "Bell Sound" that I got back in early 80's off my mate in North Carolina. He'd had it since 70's before he was even aware of Northern Soul. I did mention elsewhere that vinyl/stamps were the same as J.J.Barnes "So far away" on Mickays which I don't think has been booted. Im also pretty sure I have another Detroit 45 in my box that's Bell Sound stamped but can't be bothered going through them all to find it. I thought the Bell Sounds were Detroit pressings and the Rosettes were West Coast and aren't they on styrene. ROD

January 25, 200718 yr Hi Pete, I thought the ones on sale for $50 not long ago are very, very new boots. They have a yellow label, and very thin shiny vinyl, and look nothing like the two examples in your original post. The sound quality is also crap. I would have thought this was a genuine Detroit press, but am open to correction! Gene Edited January 25, 200718 yr by Gene-R
January 27, 200718 yr just bumping this up, as i would like to know what the story is behind these "detroit" pressings, wheres john manship when ya need him
