I've had similar things said to me when we've been chatting to people and my wife mentions I like 'northern soul'.

Clearly there is a section of the public who believes that anything of that era is NS.

Clearly Gary Timlin is a bit of a two hat.

Sadly due to sellers on Ebay listing a record under as many musical genres as possible to get maximum search results it will probably get worse. 

  I wonder is it just us or do collecters of say heavy rock shake their heads (oops course they do) when ABBA comes up under rock. I had to smile the other day when Charlie Drake Please Mr Custer came up in one of my searches, happy memories of children's favourites. Three Wheels on my Wagon etc which working on HGV's  was one I would often break out into song to the amusement of older workmates and the bafflement of the apprentices.
