The Soul Believers With The Dapps – I Don't Want Nobody's Troubles / I'm With You

i've heard the a-side but would love to hear the b-side "i'm with you'  via mp3 or you tube whatever i really don't want to borrow money against my house to buy this 45 thanks

I wonder he says in the linked review, a JB arrangement with a credit to the Dapps, a white band he used which was headed by the interesting Beau Dollar. I have a few Dapps 45's on King, best being 'I'll be Sweeter Tomorrow', they are deffo black to my ears, the white band he referes to must be the The Soul Believers, right?

The Dapps were definitely a white group, started as a rhythm/horn section and initially provided backing vocals for Brown.  They then moved into recording under Browns tutelage in their own right.  In addition to Beau Dollar, the group also included Troy Seals, who recorded the great Vietnam song Mama hold My Hand on Rising Sons.  After they left Brown, the majority of the members became the group Jellyroll.

I'll have to listen to this again John, I had 'I'll be Sweeter Tomorrow' down as a NY Group harmony thing.. either way a very very good 45.

The Dapps were a band of musicians and singers. The Soul Believers do the singing there evidently. The sung gear by the Dapps is another matter and am sorry Mal but they sound nothing like some NYC harmony act. And eminently not sounding black rooted one bit. Honestly never have I been into their few "soul' gear FWIW. Covering the O'Jays or Linda Jones while replacing George Kerr by JB or what have you is very risky to my judgmental ear.

Having to tell politely to friends that were proud of their new found discovery 45 on king of the Dapps 'I'll be sweeter tomorrow' while most likely pulling a frown on my face telling them 'I still prefer the O'Jays or Linda' (am not good at lying) was uneasy. Now as for the musicians that they are although they are less "groovy" or "fluent" than the JB's they are tight and energetic for another kind of flow. In some bits interesting. Like with the Soul Believers...

I know, my ears are burning!! one of those I quickly put into a genre, and listening to it now, its screaming 'NO, Ive never been near NY!!!' but I stand by that 45, it's a good one... the music quality part of my brain says so...! laughing

Think the flip is good as well, 'A Woman, A Lover, A Friend'.
