Yeah but the point is I'd just mentioned that it was coming out on an official legal release, mainly due to all the interest and outrage at bootleggers as debated on Soul Source, so I didn't see the point in mentioning an illegal alternative at twice the price.

Yes of course it is.

We gave out 400 free copies at one of our dances for promotion of the records and it worked very well and there were 400 very happy punters. If someone else values the record at a highish price and wants to pay more for it that's their prerogative. Garland's happy because it built up demand for the single and he gets royalties for the increased sales of CDs and this new single.

You've highlighted an excellent example of how the system works to the benefit of everyone when done legally.

if you want an original, then it's the US LP

the uk 7" is a "reissue"

there are many such uk sevens from the 70s which uk labels bunged out after they became popular on the northern scene

a similar example would be the uk seven of chuck jackson's i've got the need - the "original" is the US LP
