I always assumed that the ABC Paramount white demos around early 90s were US originals. 
Big record in Scotland at Allanton and before then. Sure Jock had a uk Pye acetate of it which he played as I recall.

 

Got to be real as I thought, take a look at Popsike as there’s plenty of US demos passed through over the years
