What's the status on this one now on the Northern Soul front ?

Is it big a second time around or was the eVilBay's Carolina Soul last September auction another one of these mental 'one off' over the roof finishing auction ?

  • managed to get two acetates of said tune approx 15 years ago-one below is the released version with count in-the other which my mate took had a slighty different intro to the released version!! g

  • It’s not easy to find and hasn’t been for some years IMO.   would never have put down as a $1300 record but the way today’s prices are it doesn’t surprise me.

I never saw this auction finishing price. What did it go for?

The original has never been common and not seen very often. The easy to spot 1970's reissue/boot has been sold as an original in the past.

I think Jordan Wilson has been plugging this in his sets over the last year or two.

.....and rightly so, it is a great dancer.

Yes but a sudden recent boom in play to explain a sudden double plus (triple) in price ?

not sudden, like I said its been a constant play, maybe the main stream events picked up on it again

So apparently that eVilBay Carolina Soul recent auction sky high jump in price didn't reflect a sudden popularity of the record on the NS front but was likely a one off crazy American deep pocket's collectors moment.

Who knows the reason but the venues I’ve attended over the years it’s always been about.  As I said it might be getting more popular with the mainstream and pop up Djs

It might but my question is it ? And what's the average going rate for a copy these days then ?
