Not sure if this is the right place but since the upgrade pages take ages to load. First page usually ok but subsequent pages stall 1/3 or 1/2 way. Using Safari, cleared cache etc. Every other site is fine, just this one.

could be an account issue

can try clearing your unread posts

tap your profile and then choose 'mark all content read'

or can try loading the site when logged out to see if any quicker - that could point to a account problem?

or it could be a browser issue, was some issues with old versions of safari

will have a dig on that side of things

Ive noticed this and was going to email mike about it, but thought it would be an issue at my end, also on safari here, cleared out all cookies, history etc in safari relating to soul-source and sense to have resolved it...

...think it must be a safari issue as tested this arvo using chrome theres no lag...

what device are you using safari on, I have seen some having similar issues elsewhere on intel macs using safari?

Hi Mike its an M1 mac with safari 18.5, seems to be a safari issue, as using the site with chrome with no issues, may be something in the cache or cookies which holds up the loading, once its loaded ( sometines it just wont) the site works fine but it happens again if you leave the site and return later, if that makes sense...

thanks for the info, the problem is with browser specific issues is it can be hard to track down just whats the cause

As in safari works ok for me on other apple devices

so my thinking is it may be due to your safari or your mac setup

there is a web page from apple titled

If Safari doesn't open a page or work as expected on Mac

If Safari doesn't load a webpage, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or otherwise doesn't work as expected, these solutions might help.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/102564

anything valid there?

I've had these issues, I recently upgraded to Full Fibre with a new router, I thought it must be something to do with that, but there is no problem with other sites.

  • The title was changed to Soul Source - safari ? slow to load

had a dig around and does seen to be a fair few safari users reporting similar issues on other sites and elsewhere on the internet

if we could id the cause then we can look at trying to resolve

the main issue is its happening to some safari users

maybe just on macs

so a few questions....

does it still happen if logged out?

anyone else getting similar? if so what's the device you are using?

are you using the browser or the app

--

few links and suggestions read elsewhere

1. Turn off Safari’s advanced tracking

2. Switch off iCloud Private Relay

6. Use Safari instead of the in-app browser

anything ?

Hi Mike, logged in or out, doesn't really make any difference, will try the other things later. it just loads or gets locked up

ok that's helpful as it does mean its not a site or member setting/feature such as cache etc

so its something going wrong between the safari browser and the site

yup, def a safari issue on the Mac here, no such issues using chrome on the Mac, site loads smoothly...strange one as when it loads in safari it works smoothly, will have a mess about with the tracking options

are ya using the actual browser or the desktop app - some said that did have a effect?

I’m using MacBook Pro M1 chip. Using safari.

... nope no change...well...once you blank the cache it works fine but gradually slows as the site is used, so def an issue with the cache/cookies in safari...(prob a way of saying I'm visiting the site too much)

I'll use chrome for a while, there'll no doubt be an update along in a short while so that might resolve it..
