Just been told my old soul friend John vare from Macclesfield has passed .I've known him and Carol for over 50yrs through nighters and soul doos everywhere. Gonna really miss him Rip John

sad news , used to go to CLEETHORPES weekender with the MACCLESFIELD crowd , met him a couple of months back at the Masonic in MACC, with CAROL ..he will be sadly missed....i am sure they will be playing a Maxine Brown record at his funeral ,as he was a massive fan of hers, and also Blue Moon as he was a massive Man City fan..R.I.P. JOHN

First met John on the train to London to attend Ian Levine's 'Rocket'. He and Carol became great friends. So sad to hear of his passing. RIP JOHN

This is awful news and a great shock. John was a very decent guy and will be missed by many. I recall happy days with him and Carol on holiday in Kefalonia, Zante and Rhodes. And at soul nights in the UK.

Shocked to read this. I met John and Carol through Judy and Alan Pollard(RIP) yonks back. John and Bobby Paris I walked away. Condolences to Carol and the wider family.

Just found this memento of John's 50th bash where he "double decked" with John Baxter (RIP). A great night night was had by all.
