Thanks for everyone's help ,it's probably my all time favourite Soul song ,James Carr is the version for me , but love Roy Hamilton's as well and Joe Tex's [ Making love ] At the dark end of the street on Atlantic , which is the first version I heard back in 1972 ,Best ,Eddie

On they same record they also do a version of "don't make the good girls go bad"
