Too slow ( and too good :lol: ) for Wigan, but Bobby's best 'soul' record is the single that preceded "Cross My Heart", the brilliant "Keep On Trying". It's a Van McCoy song that seems to have only been recorded by Bobby. Van later wrote a new set of lyrics and changed the tune slightly, and the result was "Chain Reaction" by the Spellbinders...

I thought his best was his version of Virginia Blakely?
