my mates just got a copy of this on a white label test pressing all it says is columbia ind and summat else no title no artist credits any ideas on what it is? value ? info?

Maybe it's the test press of the 12" for Salsoul records?

The Salsoul releases were distibuted through CBS? 

CBS owned Columbia

Columbia has a pressing plant in Terre Haute, Indiana.

They also had another plant in Santa Maria, California and another West Coast factory in Hollywood California. Maybe their West coast office was in santa monica calif. usa

Must be a test press from the record plant - that's really the only explanation. Also Salsoul ran through a few majors at different times - generally it was RCA in the 70's so maybe they switched to Columbia for a while in the 80's which would make sense.....

I'll check in the next few days - I ran the UK Salsoul label from 2002-2005 and I'm still in touch with 'em so I'll let you know what the prognosis is.......

What's it say in the dead wax and do you think its the same version.

£70 for a plain paper label, suppose if it was the 7" £180.
