Can any one help me out with a few questions

  1. How many are there
  2. Is there any out standing tracks to go for
  3. Are they all dead rare or are some quite common
  4. If I set my self these as a target to collect is it realistic
  5. Some Values would be nice
    Thanks in Advance

Sherri Taylor and Singin' Sammy Ward - Lover is a belter.

The Contours first record "Whole Lotta Woman" is a cracker too, but watch out for 80s repros, they are very hard to tell the difference, its all down to matrix stamps.

A very hard repro to spot indeed.

There are two radically different versions issued of this track which were released with only a couple of weeks apart. The first gritty "regional" version was withdrawn and replaced with a slightly cleaner "national" release version.

If anyone would like to trade the regional issue for the national one, let me know. thumbsup.gif

The history of The Motown Pinks, including all the various takes of The Satintones and Sherri Taylor and Sammy Ward, different matrix numbers etc are all contained in a feature in Issue # 3 of There's That Beat! you can order it at www.theresthatbeat.comby clicking on 'Back Issues". I have only 8 copies of Issue #3 left so, best be quick though. wink.gif
