Hello,

Last night I walked 200 miles barefoot in the rain to a soul club so I could listen to some good music.

After paying the rather excessive admission fee of £2.50, I was given a red wristband (although I would have preferred blue) and I sat on a chair close to the stage so I could watch the records spinning around on the turntables.

I admit that I thoroughly enjoyed myself for the first three hours but at approximately 11:00 PM (eastern standard time) I peered through my binoculars and noticed to my absolute horror that a DJ was playing a record which appeared to be a reissue. It also had a slight edge warp (which did not affect play) and the label was defaced.

Of course I demanded a full refund and stormed out of the club in disgust.

I then spent the rest of the night trying to sleep on an uncomfortable bench in a cold and dreary park while everyone else was enjoying themselves listening to good music in a nice warm club. So much for democracy!

Why do I bother paying taxes?
