I've got this record, Man Of Stone, and I have to say I think it's utter rubbish. It's an early 60's Gene McDaniels "Tower of strength" type thing which is ok but ruined by dreadful female backing singers. The reason I mention this is because I was just browsing through the new price guide and it's in there for 200 quid! I've got a copy which looks dead rough but plays fine - an offers? Starting at £20?

Is it really ? I have this as a WD in my "early Soul/ Obscure" section since years...kinda like it but can understand that you do not the price amazes me though too..

agree with you there pete the backing vocals just ruin it ootp, the lead vocals ok though, lots of records have been spoilt with the backing vocals ( could probably do a thread on em) another off the top of my head is sammy lee , it hurts me on rampart among many others......(.£200.. )

I quite like it and I'd buy for 20 if it wasn't in such a bad condition. It's a Belgian Popcorn classic, hence the price tag????
