The Gordy Label is one of the Labels that we are currently trying to compile at Hitsville Gordy_Back.gif

We will hopefully touch on Pressing Plant details in time as there are Various Label Differences

even with the same release Number.

If you follow this >>> LINK to SEABEAR SUDIOS <<<

There are three Label Scans

GORDY G-7123F

GORDY G-7132

GORDY G-7133F A

Some labels in the 7100 Number Sequence Have the A or B

Quite a few don't, but the same as Motown Label, Tamla, Soul, VIP etc the Trailing F Suddenly starts to appear after the number.

Motown started using the 'F' suffix on all their labels around the early 70's. don't know if it had anything to do with the finalisation of the relocation to west coast and the closing of the detroit setup!

Could have meant F*!%ked Off. :D

Kev

thanks all

are there any other letters used on any releases other than "F"? Off top of me head think it's Okeh or something like that use a letter to tell which take was used.....A = first take, B = second take etc.
