I originally bought this for the A Side "I Can't Change" which I still love.

Today, I too adore "Mend The Torn Pieces" - It's a fantastic record.

It did of course get a later issue on Junior 1071 with a slight change to the Credits.

The Sensations with Yvonne Baker changed to Yvonne Baker & The Sensations.

Produced By Kae Williams. appeared on the Label.

So nice to know who helped to create this Masterpiece

Hi Roger,

The late Kae Williams owned Junior Records. He also owned a number of record stores "back in the day" in Philadelphia. The label was named after his son Kae Williams Jr. Junior is also a record producer in Philly and played a part in the production of the Shirley Slaughter CD with Weldon McDougall. I spoke to him (Jr) back in April and he was flabbergasted that anyone knew of his fathers label never mind actually collected it! This particular 45 = Great sides ...both of 'em eh?

Regards,

Dave

Kae Williams did have his own web page somewhere, I'll see if I can still find it.

Kae Williams also responsible for the unissued "Our Love Is Dying" which is currently doing big things on the nighter scene

I originally bought this for the A Side "I Can't Change" which I still love....

This was a big Catacombs record, C. late 1973 titled as "Sensations", before we'd heard "Didn't Say A Word"!

'Mend the Torn Pieces' is just beautiful....a big midtempo favourite and floor filler (albeit a sloping and tiny floor :D ) at These Old Shoes. The muted trumpet and Yvonne's slightly nasal vocals do it for me everytime. This is always in my box

As this JUNIOR 1010 has YVONNE BAKER & THE SENSATIONS,

Instead of THE SENSATIONS WITH YVONNE BAKER

I take it that it has "MEND THE BROKEN PIECES" on the B Side

I have never owned or seen this version of the Junior 1010 on a Stock Copy,

even though I had heard that it existed, Thanks for posting it. :D
