  1. Alan H Session 2 late 2000 - various - 6 pacs From late 2000 Alan H inro'd his two six pacs in the year 2000 with the intro below i've been dj-ing and running clubs since the early 80s my first dj stint being at the beat route soul a go go nite in 1980, started to collect soul as well as my first musical love reggae and ska. Dj-ed at most london mod clubs thru that period as well as running the successful reggae and ska nites at the penny black, sols arms and dublin castle in camden. Irish greg and i got together to put on a do where we could have a good dance and enjoy great music and the capitol soul club was born, unfortunately we lost the bar shoreditch after eight great months, we then teamed up with mr jahans our fantastic promoter to start up the cap soul at the dome which is going from strength to strength. MY love for r&b shows in my sets but i'm not averse to a stomper or 2. You can catch me dj-ing at the dome every 6 weeks and down in brighton for the soul dayer on sunday 10th december see ya there. best alan h. the allen sisters -i'm in with the downtown crowd-quality issued on canadian quality and a few test presses this is a brogue burning mod stormer of immense proportion XXXXX that floor delores clark -i'm living to please - antares thanks go out to simon bridger gor turning me on to this 45 its the year 2000 and does she know her tunes filling the dancefloors of the uk if not the world don and ron-i'm so so sorry-white cliff this was a val palmer classic from the 80s again her sets were the buisiness. this is don and ron sam and daving and out stomping them in the process. peppermint harris-wait until it happens to you-jewel first spun in the london mod clubs mid 80s this is speed fuelled r&b for true stylists everywhere el-corols -chick chick -rouser not one of alan's original choices, but had a prob with one, so substituted this one from his play list, why this? well just listen - wow! apoligies for my tone hit link when in a bad mood and as it does seem a growing problem went off on one while understand people wanting to spread word on events involved with can be annoying for people to follow a link that leads to event plugs do try and avoid having hard and fast rules, and so at times do rely on members to get the balance right on things such as sig size, maybe need to rethink thanks for reply mike

  17. just what i need some clever word games save them for your own threads eh
  18. would have thought hip teens could be called an oldie now anyway as for rest Marc yep a big from me if compare any of similar recent northern influenced stuff like Frank Popp etc to the majority of those efforts that those 'involved' with northern have dished out in the past then there's no argument imo
  19. yep I can read the point was posting someones view of what he did since the 70s thought it was worth posting, rather than hang around here picking holes in others posts do think that perhaps time be better served having a good look at your own contributions to this site first
  20. cheers Craig was just wondering how they end up as know youtube do compress them as well once uploaded and after decoding etc wondering what like fullscreen ta mike
  21. this quote showed up in newsfeeds from Scottish Daily Herald as can vaguly remember his radio mersyside/or city radio shows in 80s (?) have to agree Disposability certainly marked the cultural punditry on offer from The Story of Light Entertainment's roster of talking heads this week. In particular, there was Pete Waterman, a man who, 20 years ago, plundered the pure gold of the northern soul motherlode only to create the brassy din that is Kylie Minogue, lazily asserting that "Billy Cotton was the Churchill of entertainment". Eh? full article here https://www.theherald.co.uk/features/68266.html
  22. craig whats the quality of the clips like once decoded ready for dvd ?
  23. on hits and all that have to say that while hits may be used on dev side etc wouldnt agree with people using them to demo the actual use of a website page views or visitors would give a better real world view always used to use "views" rather than hits when passed them on up here, as the "hits" figure is just too unreal can dig out and throw up stats for here if anyone interested
  24. Mike replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
though just highlight this as always good to see stuff being posted by members in the front page "news and articles" section (fairly easy passing on stuff just hit that submit on the right menu in the section ) A Q&A SESSION WITH KENI STEVENS Written by Dalli Samrai For all those 80’s soul connoisseurs out there only a handful of British soul artists that stood out, in comparison to their US counterparts. Keni Stevens is one of those British soul artists who could have succeeded were other UK soul artists failed, as his unique voice and production could compete with some of Americans finest at the time. However Keni Stevens came and went without getting the full recognition he deserved even with top UK Soul DJ’s like Robbie Vincent, Andy Peebles and Jeff Young backing him. There was no mistaking the honey-toned voice at the other end of the phone. The same voice that has enraptured UK Soul fans in the classic soul decade that was the 1980’s. Keni Stevens is one of a kind, an artist who has stood the test of time, who has established a unique place in the pantheon of 80’s soul music........... rest at https://www.soul-source.co.uk/artic...php/12609/p0/c5
