  1. Come and say hello Natalie, we should be there bloody cars permitting
  2. I typed the exact same thing Kev but couldn't be bothered posting, fed up with having to justify what's right. You can't argue / reason with people who don't have the same values / passion / understanding / love for it that you have. And before anyone starts that's not being nasty just how it is. Some people feel it's ok to play boots etc - others don't. Yes the scene may continue but it won't have the same integrity it once had I just wish it didn't matter so much!
  3. Baz Atkinson has asked me to pass on his condolences and say that he had huge respect for Spyke, he was a great person
  4. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the lengthy and very amusing / helpful pva glue thread that was on here a while ago. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find it easy enough edit: just did a search and there are two threads I think I would post the link but every glue word shows up yellow and there are a lot of them
  5. I keep joking (well sort of) that's it's a rich mans game these days and I'm the poor kid sat at the back stinking of p*ss Seriously though, it's not just about the money it takes a lot of years to build a good grasp of the scene, the music, knowledge and a collection. Plus all these put together are nothing without experience. I just don't understand what the rush is? Why not just sit back and enjoy the ride, it's good fun being a punter I wouldn't want to be anything else!
  6. Phil's post was great, made me wish I had it to do all over again Young ones today are certainly more 'confident' shall we say. Again, no disrespect but like I said before you can't make people love it etc. If they do great, if not so be it. Only time will tell if they do or they don't ...
  7. I think that was pretty much what I said Anyway, $650 (£402.35)
  8. People buy damaged rare objects all the time, you only have to look at some of the antiques that go through auction houses to know this. That said, they are more often than not restorable, this isn't. Also by their nature their 'value' isn't in what they sound like lol I feel Brad needs a break however, what would you expect him to do with it? I know people aren't having a pop at him as such but I'm pretty sure if I was in the record selling business and I came across it I would put it up for sale and see what happens. If it sold, great if not hey ho

I can ask my mate if he is still in touch with her if you like? Just emailed him, will let you know what he says

It actually went something like "step away from the record box love, there's nothing more you can do there" Yep mighty fine tune!

She is / was on the Detroit forum and a friend of mine told her that GTFAG was very well thought of over here. He told her that I would be playing it that night and she sent a message saying she wished she could be with us to hear it played! That was a few years ago now though so not sure if she is still active on there or not
  12. Not being funny and no disrespect to anyone whatever age they may be but no one gave a fig when we were the young uns! Did they care that we were the 'future'? Did they heck! I'm all for anyone getting into it but you can't make people love it can you? I think people have it easier than ever these days (not saying that's a bad thing, just saying that's all). When I started going to nighters the older ones went out of their way to make it as hard as possible. Wouldn't have had it any other way mind (what does that say about me?)
  13. Ermmm ... it was you who asked
  14. Sounds like Cilla Black
  15. I'd say it's pants but it's not even that good
  16. Don't fix it ffs. The fewer copies of this around the better Â
  17. Man oh Man for me without a shadow of a doubt!!! Don't like Tears at all if I'm honest, not pants but a million miles away from MoM
  18. No way? I love it!!
  19. Phew, was sweating there - still am if Dean's driving
  20. Anyone else having trouble with it cutting out? Missed Dean saying whether he was bringing Kitch to Grumpy and if we can expect him to arrive on Saturday
  21. We always had 2 x 30 minute sets at DDA, and it worked really well. Plus there was the added bonus that everyone got a decent time (which, in a night that ends at 1 or 2am isn't possible if everyone does 1 x 60 minute set) I personally don't see what the problem is - 30, 60, 90 minutes? If you struggle to do it then perhaps it isn't for you
  22. I was allowed to vote despite it being a little ahem one sided
  23. Wow! How could you not go to this? Disaster permitting will be there for sure!
  24. I have just bought from Blacka and while it did take a couple of calls to get hold of the lady in sales (my fault for ringing so late in the day) they couldn't have been more helpful
