  1. Indeed I did...and I was Bidds has got to be one of the 'get to'; dare I say 'upfront' allniters - and it was a DJ's dream. I loved it all :-)
  2. It was truely a fantastic, memorable niter. Well done Karl and Sean thanks to Sian and Dean and all the window lickers for the laughs (and Adam for Friday). A great weeknd (Val that record is fantastic)
  3. i hope so - i've been plenty of times since...the beard is less adventurous
  4. I'm taking my beard - it hasn't been to Burnley since July 2008!! (and apart from one appearance at the 100 Club, its not been to an allniter since)
  5. there's only 2 cover-ups mentioned in there mate. And you named the 'Al Green' one so i'd hope you knew who that was the Rufus Stone you haven't heard...yet
  6. Aah...my lips are sealed mate PML.... But talking of which I have to say you're wrong - my Al Green c/u and the Swan Silvertones 'God is Real' which has not 'gone' yet so a good call for 2011 are better than the Salem Travellers...which is still great!
  7. that's not the Final Seconds, Baz!
  8. Dunno if you're allowed to promote your own cover-ups; but what the fack - here's mine Al Green - 'A Long Time Ago' Rufus Stone & The New Foresters - 'I've Got To Hold On' both very soulful and dancefloor fillers. Ta
  9. nope - mine label's fine
  10. Yes it has - on Paradox. superb (i need one please :-))
  11. LOL - this is just like a bollox talk on the way home from a niter; or on the phone days later trying to get to the meaning of it all... and addressing Mark's first post, which has been digressed somewhat... it has nothing to do with the current economic climate...people will find the entrance fee if they need to... nothing to do with who spends the most on records - 'big ticket' prices, in the main are spent by oldies DJ's... The FACT is there are not that many people on the 'rare' soul scene, maybe (and this is guess) 400 - 600 people and that is it - demand over supply is the reason...or put that on it's arse - there are not that many of us!! hence more than one 'upfront' venure on a weekend is not good news, as then folk have to make a decision - promoters on this limited scene can not afford to clash - forget on the same nite - the same weekend is pushing it!...
  12. a unique voice; very sad RIP
