  1. Yes my wife to this at Tameside Hippodrome and loved it! Now she's not really into Northern but likes some of the 60's stuff. We are not intending it to be another Northen Night, just as has been said stir some memories and play some stuff that doesn't get out much nowadays. We are looking at a room that could have come straight from "Life On Mars". Any tips for tunes gratefully received. ATB Mr. Pitiful

You know things like, Chain of Fools, Love Man , I got what it takes, I thank You , Funky Street, Top of the Stairs etc. etc and more Motown than you can throw a brick at. We thought we might give a night a go spinning this kinda stuff. Think it'll go.?? Tony

Course you're relying on my memory..but Rufus was one of the incarnations of downstairs at Rowntrees Sound on Cross st. entered via Fennel St. typical 70s club I guess, coupla rooms dance floor in back. Think JG was the only DJ in there. I'm pretty sure he also did the Sunday Nights at The John Bull on Spring gardens which by coincidence was previously Rowntrees Spring Gardens ATB Tony

  22. No! In fact I cannot disagree with you on this at all, and in truth I am not really expecting any replies from anyone who loves the music. What I wondered was if folks only go for the craic, and are not really bothered what they hear, why they are so upset when they dont hear.. FW, The snake , Moody woman etc etc. beleive me mate I've had some. Tony
  23. Should I come Back--Jay Lewis Dont Look over your Shoulder--Nancy Wilson Dead End Street-- Lou Rawls You can Bring Me All your Heartaches--Lou Rawls A few I like Tony
  24. Just read Dundeedave,s latest in On the Scene, where he comments on ther being 2 scenes, one for music lovers ,one social. So just a question, if people go for purely social reasons, have a laugh, meet your mates, get a few beers down and don't really care about the music too much. Why does it ruin your night when a coupla records get played that you don't know, hmmmm?? Tony
