  2. Dear Marge Bit of advice needed,if you feel like giving it. After being told that folks were fed up of hearing the Same Old ,me and Ste started a small night of our own, trying to play something different and invited guests along of the same frame of mind. we've been going for a little over a year and are still being asked to " play something we know" "have you got the Snake" not being complete fascists we play 'em when we got 'em but my mate is getting a lot pissed off and thinks we should say f*ck it buy a box of Stadust and join the herd. What do you reckon?? Discontented of Heywood
  3. Fairy Nuff Tony
  4. Had this for a while and played it out coupla times, but I think that the production could have been better as the vocals seem cut a bit low. What do you think yourself? Tony
  5. Probably been done before, but can you recall any tune that on first hearing you thought "yeah this could go"? Example back in the dark ages(early 70's for you young 'uns), me and my mate both got copies of Hoagy Lands "theme from the other side",only rick got a copy with the vocal ont'other side " Friends and Lovers", which at the time we both thought was bloody good but it never did nowt. Anymore for anymore? Todge
  6. Just a touch too young for The Wheel First went to The Pendulum in'72, which I might add was done deliberately cos I wanted to hear Soul and not Terry tinsel etc. Anyway did not know a single sound, but was totally gobsmacked. I now know what was what of course and would have to say that the standout tune(then) was Exus Terk- Luther Ingram Cheers Tony
  7. That Jimmy Ruffin is a good version TP

  20. Have to drag me old B&S's out but it was always referred to as Paint Yourself as the A side there and spoken of as big a hit as Too Late. Don't matter that much though do it? Not worth more than a tenner Tony
  21. Could be wrong about the figures, but thought it crossed over to become a sizable pop hit Tony
  22. When you get to my age you remember these tunes from first time round. This was a massive hit in the states early 70's sold hundreds of thousands at around the same time as Cornelius Bros Too Late, another huge hit so cannot in way be rare. £10 absolute tops. Tony
  23. 'Twas Betty Swann Make Me Yours, and yes Soul sneaks into the oddest places. I walked into TK Maxx last week and stopped dead to hear Roy Ayres Everybody Loves The Sunshine. Where'd that come from? Tony
