Apparently some guy in Burnley who may or may not have caused this topic to start due to the amount of people who look like they will be there.

Oh right. But surely they would invite relatives and friends who were not into northern even if they had northern DJ's if you get my drift.

Agreed. You cant play that type of music its an oldies/modern/RnB do so pack it in. You cant play that because its not OVO. You cant DJ at my event because you have DJ'd at his event. You cant come in because you once spoke to Ian Levine. You can only have a birthday party in the Outer Hebrides on a slack Tuesday in November. KINNEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the birthday bash was incorporated into a regular event, would the promoter allow all the invited guests in for free ?. Would the promoter allow food etc.to be put on ?. Would the promoter allow time for speeches ?. What about little kids running about all over the gaff ? My point is that there is a big difference in format between a birthday party and a regular event whatever the music policy is.

The Discoverer Or The Breaker ?
A man after my own heart, what ever happened to Clive ?. I still see Rivers and Mick and a few other old London lads but Clive was always the one you would remember from those days.

Olde English ''800''
There's me thinking the thread was about a Pub in Matlock where Alan Day used to DJ.

Cheap Tune Wanted
They re-recorded this again in 1982 as Avatarr on the same label. The flip of which is a blinding sweet/deep killer diller.

Social History Of Jamaican Album Design
Given that all Jamaican music stems from Mento and much of it has been concerned with local Jamaican issues from Blam Blam Gun Fever thru to songs about sound system wars. It would not surprise if there are certain album covers which chart a social history of Jamaica. However I cant see it too much in this article.

The Discoverer Or The Breaker ?
Here's a couple teasers for those reading the thread, who played first who broke ? Court Davis Foster & Stevens on Jerri Innersection None of the above went "big" until many many years had passed, after being first played.

The Discoverer Or The Breaker ?
I remember getting dog's abuse because I said that Cecil Washington I Don't Like to Lose had been played at the Cats years before Richard played it at Wigan, maybe people just like the thought of being there when a record was first played whether its true or not.

The Discoverer Or The Breaker ?
Or like when the London lads brought a covered up record to the Mecca for Levine to play. He played it and ten seconds into the record he broke it in two. Well it was a version of Maisy Doats after all.
-
The Discoverer Or The Breaker ?
I take it you mean. This was first played by so and so at such and such (small venue), then it was broken by so and so (big name DJ) at such and such (Big name venue).

What Was The Best Knicked Car You Ever Went To A Niter In?
Please tell me you didn't let him drive at anytime. The idea of Swish in charge of a vehicle, especially after a nighter, does not bear thinking about.
