So the verdict is that the MINT copy in the DJ's box and the MINT copy on Ovenchip's auction, that have both turned up in the last few weeks, are indeed originals? Can anyone remind the last big ticket sound (i.e. £2000 plus) in MINT condition turned up in confirmed quantities of two or less?

Ovenchip must be kicking himself stupid over this guide.Even if he makes £24 profit on each copy, he (and other dealers) must be losing thousands from not being able to pick up records cheap(particularly in the US) and now having to folk out close to "book" prices. How many times have you seen ebay auctions have a starting price the same as in a guide? Dealers are obviously having to pay top dollar for stock nowadays as their starting auction prices are so high, and their stock / set sale stuff has a very low turnover, a £5 record is now £20. It's OK for anyone with a collection amassed over the years because you can just add a 0 or two to the value, but for anyone thinking of starting collecting now, a twenty grand collection is going to consist of half a dozen records all priced at 100 times their true value - yet another obstacle for enticing in "new blood". Also, I'm sure some of the records on dealer's lists who do it for a living are non existent, because even if you went around with a wheel-barrow full of £50 notes you are not going to pick these records up now because collectors remember that they only paid a fiver for a £500 sound, but are gonna have to spend £800 to get it back because that's what it say in the guide!!!

£20 to £30 If you're selling, you'll disagree If you're buying, you'll disagree as you can't find one for that sort of money Is actual "value" today; If you're buying, it's whatever anyone's gonna actualy be prepared to pay for one If you're selling, it's whatever price you're prepared to accept, when offered Daft answer I know, but it all boils down to "supply and demand" at the time

First sale, no history No picture, no record? The usual bad English form these Belgium sellers And wouldn't the last line to Beluim buyers be more appropriate in French, Flemish or whatever they speak over there?

Twenty odd years ago I had a list of Dave Raistrick with the demo on E+ condition. A few years ago I had a demo from Chadwick's collection in my hands for about 30 seconds, E+ condition. Autumn 2004 DJ has a mint condition demo. Ovenchip has a mint demo. Nowt on Ebay though. Nice black and silver label, just like the Oxford Nights that haven't turned up recently either

I bought my copy for the sum of £8 becasue it had "some tape on the labels". When it turned up it had four strips of masking tape on each side. I was told it was the first copy in the country that Pep played cover edup. Anyboy know if this is true?

There's plenty of good blue eyed soul on the scene..Righteous Brothers, When Bobby Hatfield died about a year ago there was a slot on radio five live's Brief Lives; apparently they were perofming to a "mixed race" audience (as the Paramours) when a black chap souted out "that's righteous, man" and after that they changed their name And if Mary O'Brien wasn't a 'soul' singer, I'm a white Irish lesbian!
