  2. Swapsies? The red will go with my eyes.....
  3. Apologies then Pete - heartfelt too - as I assumed it was a p*ss takeafter being ater informed that it's a pretty regular copy; I'd never seen one either, but then I'm hardly an expert on these matters....I've even been known to be wrong once or twice... Please do bother next time.... ...pretty please...?
  4. Bit of a mixed bag below, as usual I'm open to (sensible) offers, any (genuine) problems with buys and I'll always refund. 5. Yep - seems the first reply was a p*ss take 'cos I ain't as cleverer and knowledgable as some folks on 'yer. Ah well, you get 'em everywhere I suppose. I'd only seen them with a sword/cutlass-type thing underneath. Thanks for the straight answer (and I must listen to the Motorhead version, intrigued now...
  6. Thanks Pete, must admit I'd never seen one like it before, and couldn't find an image either, hence the question - though I must also admit I thought it must be booted.
  7. True ....I was 'lucky' enough to buy it in the first place; and I could always sell it with my Frank Wilson...
  8. B*gger, cheers Mick. Have to ebay it as "an original 70's boot" then....
  9. Evening - is this a boot please?
  10. Thanks Ricky, couple of strange ones there - Freddie Chavez MUST be a boot - but interesting on the Charles Mintz and Bobby Patterson; I thought maybe a bit more, so I'll leave them off the list. Thanks for the info...
  11. Thanks Tiberius. Prices seem all over the shop full stop tbh, which is why I asked - I've been away for a while and need a few quid, so it's the old "Do I sell or not?" quandary...."Not" has won up to now, but if I can find a few prices on these that might make it worthwhile, who knows....anyway, thx for the info
  12. Don't suppose you've any tips for removing scratches on a Roy Roberts caused by Darth Vader's (Lego) head at all? I've tried stamping Darth into the floor but the scratch is still there.... ...and my heel really hurts........
  13. Afternoon all, any chance I could pick you good people's for some rough prices on the below that I'l be looking to sell soon.......when I know approx prices....all are at least Ex, most are minty fresh: Oliver Norman-Drowning in my own despair (Decca) New York Rock Exchange - Harmonica Man (United Artists wdj) Freddie Chavez - They'll never know why (Look) I don't know about you - Jay J Jones (V-Tone) Charles Mintz - Give a man a break (Uplook) Girl I got news for you - Benny Latimore (Dade) Sock some lovin' at me - Bobby Patterson and the Mustangs (Jetstar) Love Power - Sam Mcgowan (Smash wdj) Mamie Lee - I can feel him slipping away (MGM) Thanks in advance, enjoy your weekends....
  14. Has the wdj copy been booted? Can anyone explain the tell-tales if it has please? (Not that I'm at all bothered about my copy of course....... but it would be nice to know so is this a good 'un?
  15. Allelu-Jah brother!
  16. Peter's been brave and mentioned that modern disco stuff (sorry Pete) Best investment I ever made was Tommy Stewart's eponymously titled album, every one a winner and always gets everyone up. Can't post links like above but here's a start: and the rest of the album's ideal for the floor too
  17. Thanks for posting the link blue - nothing like dancing to help with the dishes ;)
  18. Ooh ooh and you'll need an ender - I used Hot Tamales Bring it home (give it to me) a few times for something different - to be honest the ladies preferred it to the blokes, but it's a top, cheap, soulful track for a steamy summer evening
  19. Got one of my favorites for 5 dollars, not much more now probably - Third guitar-Sad Girl on Rojac, soulful, sweet and shuffling Beginning of my life - The Chimes Wear it on your face - The Dells (goes like a feckin' train this one) Willie Hutch - Love runs out on a pressing for your own enjoyment if you like the classy side of things Superiors - I'd rather die on Sue (?) Wilson Pickett - Let me be your boy on Verve Sonny Ocean - Pity me (Columbia?)
  20. Only decent thing them white boys ever done And if I caught any of my kids listening to that sh*te or dressing up like that I'd disown the little sods, brought 'em up better than that........ ..........Cnut can't even spell............
  21. This always gets me & mine beaming Razzy - I hate hate And if I knew how to post refosoul clip..................?
  22. I've bought a few of these & found them spot on; good sound, well thought-out & some really nice tunes. I'd also prefer the originals on vinyl, but as the few of these there are will be in the hands of a select minority who do this sort of thing for a living, the chances are I'll never get them - hence the CD's in my collection. I liked Tim's because he is so obviously a real soul fan, with a real soul fan's feeling for the music - they weren't just chucked together - and at that price was obviously NOT doing it for the money. So you who want to can buy vinyl only, whilst those of us who like a well thought out cd at a decent price will continue to buy them, alright
  23. Look out!! It's behind you!!
  24. That's where I play(ed) it Sebastien! Agree with you, crackin' double-sider this but never seen mention of it?
  25. Cheers dave, so am I now after reading that - must be catching! I still think the boogaloo track's the best of his UK releases, but 'tis personal opinion only. I see a copy of the Roy Thompson on Manships for £45 (wasn't on there last time I looked so I didn't bother this time) so that'd be £25-30 on here? Was this ever a biggie? Think this is a cracking dancer, lovely looking on the Okeh demo too, right storming through a big system. Still need info on the Clarence Reid though, never seen this mentioned/heard it played out, but nice uptempo 60's?
