I've been to quite a few both north and south and I would say that there are few differences. The differences that so exist, generally speaking, are: Younger punters down south More oldies played up north People stay longer up north Modern soul better up north Allnighters more popular up north As I said, they're generalisations and there will be notable exceptions but that's just my view.

A surprisingly high figure I believe. At least it was when someone last asked this question. I got mine for free when I ordered a load of other stuff from a bloke in Southend 25 years ago.

The best version of this much covered song imo. Also available on a Jazz Juice LP/CD which is quite hard to find these days and iTunes!

Did Edwin Starr's "Contact" or "Happy Radio" get played at Wigan? Also, I don't think anyone comfirmed if Billy Ocean "RLSD" or "LRHWY" got played there or not.

It got into the UK charts at the time so there must be plently around in boot fair sales. Still a good record though and from a great LP!

Both. I think a good local DJ and a big name can offer something interesting -sometimes the local DJ even more so if you're comparing the to an oldies DJ.
