    Having had a terrible time with Volume 1, buying and returning three sets, and then seeing that people had further problems with Volume 2, I still want these box sets, (I know Doctor, it's an addiction !) So, is there anyone out there that can sell me, at a reasonable price, a set of Volume 1 and Volume 2 ? I don't mind if they have been opened, in fact I would rather they had been opened to check they had the right records, that all played, and were without warps. Over to you guys..............PM me with a price including postage.

    There are some great LPs there, and I might be interested in buying some. However, if I'm going to spend £30 on an LP, I'd like to see the tracklisting. I know it's a pain listing them, but I won't be tempted to buy otherwise, and I'm sure many people feel the same.

    The one called 'Soul' was a newspaper type, like 'Echoes' and was really quite good. Obviously it covered things from an American perspective, but I have copies with articles on people like Sam Fletcher, so it didn't just do the 'Marvin, Michael, & Diana' route.

    You could leave it in mint unopened condition, and then be bitterly disappointed in five years time, or open it now and send it back because some of the singles are unplayable !

    To be honest, given the quality fiasco that box set 1 was, Having bought two sets and go through the hassle of returning them both, I decided not to buy this until I heard some reports about the quality of this one. So, there are warped records, mislabelled records. Tell you what Universal, I'll keep my money, and you can keep your crap product !

    Complete shock this morning as I read this. Like almost every other poster, I had many conversations with Bob, both within threads and vis PM and email. Some people, without even trying, are so knowledgeable and contribute so much, that when they go, we then, and possibly only then, realise they are irreplaceable. Bob was one of those people. RIP Bob.

    Many years ago I bought several Okeh singles as a 'lot' of pressings. The photo showed quite clearly that they all had large 45s, and some of them had not even been booted. I also bought an original Sam & Kitty on 4 Brothers out of a box at a venue, which was sold as a pressing but was original.

    I got a press release email about it earlier this week, but unfortunately I can't access personal email from here. They do make a point of emphasising that the records will be pressed in top quality vinyl
