New Holidays
I saw this listed on Ebay and it attracted my attention. Unfortunately I got out bid, but also I don't have a clue what it sounds like or it's value. I have a copy of Jimmy 'Soul' Clark's - If I Only Knew, dunno if this is the same song tho'. Apparently the other side is a track called 'Maybe So Maybe No'. Like I said if anyone has any info or soundclips it would be appreciated, thanks.

Beanos Closing Down
I think you'll find that they do. You can only get a one day travelcard on a paper ticket. If LUL staff say they've loaded it onto an Oyster card, they are lying! They would have just loaded up an amount of credit on PrePay. This (PrePay) isn't valid on Trains to Croydon, in fact it isn't valid on hardly any national rail service. Trust me I've charged many a person £20 for these reasons.

Don Thomas - Come On Train - Weird Uk Variation
Pete, Like you say you've had thousands of records thru your hands, are you sure the old mind isn't playing tricks on you? Here's a scan of my promo copy.

Beanos Closing Down
£6.30 or if you don't require Zone 1 you can get a Zones 2 - 6 for £4.30. The fare increases are all Ken's fault, that would be Ken Livingstone.

- Motown Cd For A Friend
I've a friend at work, who I had previously done a Motown CD for. She's 11 years my senior and likes tamla motown, but she only really knows about their chart stuff. So I basically ripped a copy of the Motown Connoisseurs Vol 1 CD, plus a couple of extra tracks (fantastic 4 - can't stop lookin' & martha + vandellas - my baby loves me). Anyway recently she said it was jumping and wanted a new CD done. So I made one up using some CD's I've got, can't use vinyl can't rig turntable up to the computer. Anyway she's been off for a week and she came back to work today and said she can't stop dancing round her flat to the CD that I'd done for her. I put some stuff on there that I knew she liked, stuff like Needle In A Haystack, Ain't No Mountain plus a couple of Gladys Knight tracks, because I knew she was fond of her stuff. One thing that made me laugh was that she said she preferred Chris Clark from the first CD to Frank wilson on this one! The question I'd like to ask is what 20 Motown tracks would you put on a CD for a friend? Anyway here's what I put on it, she said she especially loves the first track. 1. Edwin Starr - I Have Faith In You 2. Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell - Ain't No Mountain High Enough 3. Hearts Of Stone - If I Could Give You The World 4. Martha Reeves & The Vandellas - Love, Guess Who 5. Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - My Baby Changes Like The Weather 6. The Supremes - Life Beats 7. Thelma Houston - Nothing Left To Give 8. The Originals - Good Lovin' Is Just A Dime Away 9. Dynamic Superiors - Don't Send Nobody Else 10. Chris Clark - Day By Day Or Never 11. The Velvelettes - Needle In A Haystack 12. David Ruffin - Walk Away From Love 13. Bobby Taylor - Oh I've Been Blessed 14. Frank Wilson - Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) 15. Kim Weston - I'm Still Loving You 16. The Supremes - He's All I Got 17. Gladys Knight & The Pips - Just Walk In My Shoes 18. Frances Nero - Keep On Loving Me 19. The Temptations - Truly Yours 20. The Contours - Just A Little Misunderstanding 21. Gladys Knight & The Pips - No One Could Love You More 22. Virgil Henry - You Ain't Sayin' Nothin' New 23. The Originals - Goodnight Irene- Ebay Scam - Can Anyone Explain This?
Two wrongs don't make a right. If the record wasn't to your satisfaction, why not just request a refund and return the record. Why resort to such underhand tactics?- Bakcdoor`s Choices, part Two
Junior McCants - would proberbly grow on me. Jackie Wilson - Choon! Albert Washington - Not quite sure about.- Lovelites - Get It Off My Conscience?
The Enchantments - In Love With Your Daughter, has faces on label doesn't it? Think the label name is Faro, but could be wrong.- New To Collecting
They haven't got upset with me yet, or at least they haven't said they have. In all seriousness though, they send the lists by email so it doesn't cost them any extra to send 200 than it would to send 1. Also Sean Chapman now does a list by email. Also getting lists by email when you get to see something that you don't know, you can look up stuff on Soul Club or Manships site for soundclips.- Your Favourite 100 Club Single
I'm a bit partial to Sammy Ambrose's - Welcome to Dreamsville, although I'd have to say my favourite at the moment is the latest one, as it reminds me of a great night out!- New To Collecting
All I can suggest is, buy what you like at the price you are willing to pay for it. Other than that sorry but I'm not much use. If you know what tracks you want, make a list, then try getting prices of dealers and ebay, as sometimes can be quite a remarkable price difference between sellers. One last thing, welcome to the asylum, otherwise known as Soul-Source.- Oh Look.... It's Friday
I start work this afternoon and don't finish til 10.15pm! So to all those of you that are off out somewhere tonight, enjoy yourselves...........lucky gits!- What The Hell Is This?
Pleasing on the eye tho'.- General Feeling About Record Prices
When buying off ebay, I aim to buy on something ending the day before or on payday. I tend to buy most of my stuff off ebay. Very occasionally buy stuff from dealers, but as I'm buying cheaper stuff tends to be almost half price on Ebay. Have seen some stuff on Pete's lists lately, but am always skint when I get them. Like Mischief says have a splurge on payday then have to wait another 4 weeks before I buy again.- Titles And Artistes Please
Oh well! Wrong again. Any chance of uploading the tracks?- Titles And Artistes Please
Or is it, "My girl she's so kind and sweet"? If so it's Roger Hatcher - Sweetest Girl In The World (Excello), another record that I love but can't afford! https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Roger_Hatch...n_The_World.ram- Quinvys Cheap As Chips
In fact saw a copy for sale last night at a measly £10, bargain!- 100 Club Single
And on the other side: Gigi & The Charmaines - I Don't Wanna Lose Him Rupert, you asked is it any good? The answer to that is, yes it is! I was talking to Shane and saying how long before a copy gets listed on Ebay and for how much it would go for. I'd say listed within a fortnight and go for about £80.- Quinvys Cheap As Chips
Occasions - There's No You - Big Jim, quality tune for under £50. >>Clip from John Manship's site<<- Margret Little 45?
The seller also has a car for sale on ebay and they've very kindly posted up their phone number on the listing. >> phone number <<- Margret Little 45?
Talking about boots have a look at this one! I think Ms Wallaces friends maybe interested in this one. >> TMG 499 ????? << Mr Croasdell maybe interested in this other one he's selling! >> 100 pounds of boots <<- Margret Little 45?
All someone needs to do is set up bogus account on Ebay then purchase one by CHEQUE! That way you'll have to get a name and address.- My Playlist ( If I Were A Dj )
Bazza, Those records on your playlist, well some of em, are classics. Took this from an online dictionary : classic noun a piece of writing, a musical recording or a film which is well-known and of a high standard and lasting value: Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' is a classic of English literature. Many of the Rolling Stones' records have become rock classics. - Smash Records
