  1. two songs have really captured my imagination of late The dynamic tints -' Rosmarie' on Twinight was a cheap US ebay purchase that goes perfectly as an uplitfting tune to listen to whilst making my bed after brekkie. Really great sound that is not disimilar from the notations stuff on that label. Dewey Jefferies - When no one care cared. Found this tune on a ' dab of soul ' complilation. Just a perfect soulful jazzy piece that sounds great on the rainy train ride into work. Ther're my favorites of late...making winter a little warmer for me.
  2. couple of nights ago I was out and heard a blinding record called ' i feel good' by Wes Black on the Star West label. Had never heard of it before but now I am fairly determined to get my hands on a copy. Does anyone know what I night have to fork out for such a purchase? I can't find any info about this record anywhere? thought maybe someone of here might have an idea. cheers , Daniel.

  4. Ray Pettis - Forever Together - Dee Dee .... would be 10 pounds very well spent ....bloody wonderful tune.
  5. I gotta agree with you on the capitol records...very nice indeed. For me the ARCTIC label and 1960's RCA demos do the trick...both very pretty.
  6. done dusted and sorted.

  8. thats crazy i had no idea does that include gertudes brown couch on the saturday by any chance?
  9. according to manship it's a uk only release...but certainly on 45. i also prefer mr fame's version...so anyone got a spare copy going on?

  13. hello just bought a copy of jeanette williams all of a sudden on backbeat. It was delivered today but shows a few signs of being a booted copy. the sound is fairly awful , the record is fairly bendy/flimsly and it's got a promotional not for sale written on it. just wondered if anyone knows the correct delta number for this record or has a picture of what the legit promo copy should look like? much thanks, daniel.
  14. Daniel Harvey posted a post in a topic in Look At Your Box

  15. Just picked up a fairly corny but uptempo record by a group called hines hines and dad on columbia. just wondered if anyone knows much about this group? The tracks are 'Butterscotch Monday' and 'Look for the Silver Lining'. cheers daniel.
  16. a few weeks back i saw a spare 50 box..one of the old ones at a record shop in huddersfield for a fiver. it wasn't in wall of sound..but rather the other record store in that little mall up the stairs. It was in a bit of a state but looked like it would do the job. he had 3 and i bought 2..good bargain that....it was under the cd shelf...hope that helps mate.
  17. also marica hind's 1st album with 'gotta let go' on it at my local record shop ....now that it is a belter of a song.

  19. pretty keen on al kent - you gotta pay the price. or for 70's the brothers - are you ready for this...both crackers.
  20. just found a copy of Doug Parkinson ' i'll be around' in Notting Hill. In three years I have never seen a copy in a record store in Melbourne.
  21. very nice images there mate I have been trying to find aussie soul pressings here in melbourne for a bit now but they appear to be dead scarce. wouldn't mind a nice copy of Bettye Swann on Astor.
  22. speaking from my experience , younger members of the crowd like myself (i'm 20) are generally very warmly recieved...but i suppose it depends on the age composition and character of the punters. In terms of loyalty and taking it seriously the under 30's crowd that i've met are right on the money....look at nights like Beat Boutique and that driving beat..
  23. cheers, that brilliant , thanks for that george.
  24. Just bought a copy of a record by a group called the ' Supremes' on the Grog label entitled ' you and me'. I'm trying to find some infomation on the group as they are obviously a different group to the famed motown supremes. I had a look on Manships but couldn't get a date or location in America where the record was cut. Can anyone tell me anything about this group? Just seemed strange to me that they what sounds like an all male group would call themselves the supremes... Also can anyone tell me anything about the GROG label.....i have never heard of it before. cheers , Daniel. here is a link the ebay page https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...:EOIBSA:US:1123
  25. 20 ..but there arn't many my age floating about... quite a few in their mid tweni bties though. beat boutique pulls a fairly young crowd..
