  1. Can't quite bring myself to post a comment/question saying it is a counterfeit Richard
  2. The original has a raised 'X' on styrene This is a bootleg on vinyl with a scratched in 'X' There is a green vinyl original but the label colour and layout is quite different Loads of threads on here about originals versus counterfeits Cheers Richard
  3. Think this got picked up recently on here with feedback to the seller Item now clearly listed as genuine original - which it is not https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150617778111&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_3664wt_932 Cheers Richard

  5. Missing number on a major label? Wheelsville #105 Groove City #203 Revilot #219, #220, #221 That would be interesting well for me anyway

  8. Northern Soul is about elitist - I got it you don't. I have been there - you haven't. Differen version, rarest version etc.
  9. Actually I think I might have worked out the order of the two releases as Linwood seems to have come before Dexter - so this means the Rivieras came first because it used the Linwood address The Riley's and Diamond Jim numbering systems intertwine and The Outcry on Riley's #8785 seems to be the last release with the Linwood address. Then the address changes to Dexter. One exception I can find is the Terrifics on Diamond Jim #8784 (just one number before the Outcry) which already has the Dexter address - but that could just be because the two discs came out around the time of the relocation Cheers Richard
  10. Thanks Roger - will give that a go Richard
  11. Great - thanks Roger How do you do those scans that change image? Pretty smart Cheers Richard

  13. Hi everyone Was Barbara Randolph's - I Got A Feeling on Soul ever bootlegged please? If so, how can you tell the boots from the originals? Thanks Richard
  14. Oh - if it helps I just spotted that The Rivieras address was 1871 Linwood while The Proto Jays was 12318 Dexter Cheers Richard Rivieras - You Counterfeit Girl - Soul-tbc
  15. You Counterfeit Girl on Riley's was released as by The Rivieras and The Proto Jays ... But which came first? The Rivieras was on #369 while The Proto Jays release number was #8790 James Riley's numbering systems were all over the place Anyone know the history please? Great record Cheers Richard
  16. And this DJ copy of #128 which seems pretty hard Cheers Richard
  17. If you look at various Ric-Tic listings these show #122 being released in March '67 and #128 in April '67 - only a month between That said the in-between releases were put out up until #127 in June '67 - so #128 went backwards There was no #126 so no issue there over timing I have the following DJ copies of #122 which are interesting - check the differences in the credits Cheers Richard
  18. Premium Stuff posted a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
The Karen logo is identical - so in those days must have been a straight copy from a real Karen record surely (not like using a computer sourced font these days)? Anyone know what it sounds like -and how good/bad the record is? Cheers Richard
  19. Yes Pete - radically different - like it as it's rough around the edges When you say 'demo' do you mean promo or a real demonstration copy not issued to radio stations etc. - in the way most bands and the music business would view 'demo' Cheers Richard
  20. Hi everyone Is there a company sleeve available for Providence Records please? I'm asking in relation to maybe finding a sleeve for a Dynamics on Top Ten that is Providence distributed Cheers Richard

  25. Don't think I paid much for my Dee & Flo - wouldn't mind a M/M-copy though - and it is of course the same basic backing as the awesome Dee & Joe - Who Is It Gonna Be on Jubilee which is a better song IMO Cheers Richard
