  1. An original in VG+ condition sold on eBay at the start of the month for £423 Nearly went for it myself but no spare cash Here's a pic though Cheers Richard
  2. Mr Manship has a copy on list and website described as Detroit Northern Soul Have always thought of this one as out of Chicago Anyone shed any light please? Brilliant record - wherever it comes from Cheers Richard
  3. So here is the Refosoul link to "Sweet Young Love" John L Brown & Rayettes - Sweet Young Love - Like It Is Cheers Richard
  4. Hi Derek Thought this very intriguing tale would have had a bit more action Stories of unconfirmed identity, reputed bootlegging etc. top quality stuff Anyway, here's scan of the other side of the 45 so everyone can see the credits etc. Not 'Groovesville' as you can see. Plus I'm uploading this track to Refosoul Further comments and speculation welcome very welcome Cheers Richard
  5. 'Bring Me All Your Heartaches' is one of my all time fave records. I have never played the flip - will do so over the weekend and post up a sound file if I get the chance Cheers Richard
  6. Hi Dave I put the Big Six as a want up here a year or two ago and John posted on the thread or PM'd me saying it was a 'fictitious' release. Sure enough it appears also in the Brown and Koppell Price Guide Cheers Richard
  7. We know - read the thread mate
  8. Likewise Greg (although I was less explicit in voicing an opinion, the reason for opening the thread was to highlight that this is a tough 45 that rightly should command a decent price) There will probably be a rash of them on eBay now and the price will crash Cheers Richard
  9. Wishing now I had been more proactive and just offered my copy (it's in as good condition as the auction copy) to John to auction, rather than asking on here what one would go for Anyway, price-wise - £250 seems as stated above seems a tad cheap Connie Clark My Sugar Baby Vocal & Instrumental A glorious, near new copy! This is classic Northern Soul from the desk of Frank Wilson, created by the great man in the summer of 1965 in Los Angeles under the licence of Motown and Jobette music. So very, very hard to acquire in fine condition, unlike most-all Northern Soul real-deal classics they have been loved-to-death by the DJ and the clubs. This copy has just emerged from a long-term collection in eye-popping condition. Two stunningly perfect labels and clean as a whistle vinyl that plays totally perfect, check the scan and the soundfile, as always directly lifted off the listing. Finding a better copy, may prove impossible. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 861.00
  10. Currently sitting at £729

  13. Good stuff Brian - thanks Anyone else got any info please? Cheers Richard
  14. Anyone got any info please? Plus I often see this 45 as credited as a '72 release I have a couple of red copies and one has WOL saying 1968 Anyone know the score please? Cheers Richard

  16. Some great stuff there Don Thanks for sharing Richard
  17. A great record and one I picked up as a lad after hearing it on a couple of tape swappers tapes Was surprised to see it go for quite so much on John's auction last week What's the story on this one anyone please? Cheers Richard Rotations Trying To Make You My Own C/w Misty Roses A 45 that's bubbled away on Northern Soul's backburner for what seems an age. Occasional outings at the rare & underplayed evenings has kept demand buoyant for decades. Recently this smooth example of vocal group Northern Soul has been discussed on forums a few plays at the larger venues, and whoosh it's on the lips of most-all who seek those under-valued sleepers. Click the soundfile to remind yourself of the sheer-quality this 1967 Miles Grayson guided NS dancer emits. Personally I love the flipside too...a down-beat harmony ballad of the finest kind. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 384.00
  18. Hi everyone I have copies of the Magic Tones - Great Day/Look Away (Ram-Brock 2001) on both a blue label and a red label (like the other Ram-Brocks). The blue label seems common but the red seems much harder. What is the story on the red label please? Was it the first issue and then it was re-released on blue? Cheers Richard
  19. Thanks for all the comments guys. Can anyone reading please note this is still a wants post and that I'm looking to purchase 'DJ Sticker' demo copies on the Golden World and Ric-Tic labels. The ones with the For Demonstration Use Only Not For Sale stickers as shown at the top of the thread. If you can help out please PM me Thanks very much. Cheers Richard

Hi Ady From the posts so far I suspect I may have got hold of the wrong end of the stick when I'm saying that as well as ABC Tom & Jerrio - Boo-Ga-Loo also came out on the local Jerry-O label #110 Cheers Richard
  25. Interesting prices one low, one high(ish) - the first was VG/VG- condition, the second VG+ - so neither woiuld make it condition-wise for me Cheers Richard
