  5. Forgot I started this thread - gave up on it due to lack of general interest Seems few people are interested in the proposal for a SS approach to grading I guess I will continue to be disappointed then by people who need either they eyes or consciences looked at when they grade VG records with shitty labels as EX or better, or records which have seen obvious action/wear as M- or near mint Cheers Richard
  6. Hi all Can anyone tell me anything about Art Posey who recorded on the Detroit Scope label please? Thanks in advance Cheers Richard
  7. You callin' me odd! What I meant was that I had been thinking about asking John to auction mine anyway as I was thinking of selling - and that I would have been OK with the result knowing it would be a decent price in any event. Cheers Richard
  8. Spotted that one too mate. Funny as I had been thinking of asking John to auction mine and just seeing what happened Well, now I can see what it goes for without selling mine Agree with you on price and not letting it go for less Cheers Richard

  20. Nice one Webby Two fabulous dance records Reminds me of when I went to a 'soul night' accidentally in Dublin a few years ago now. It was during the foot and mouth outbreak and a friend and I went over from Edinburgh to watch the rugby - which was cancelled due to the outbreak. We ended up in a club - in an old Victorian (?) building like an old theatre, or corn exchange, or similar. It had multiple rooms and in one there was soul being played (not OVO but CD). The DJ playing some northern was a young woman. The two songs I remember her playing were the Professionals and Capitols 'Cool Jerk', which went down a storm in just the way you described. The crowd were mad for it - and it struck me how it is such a superb dance record when played out loud. We had been drinking since lunch so I don't remember much else - but have always wondered where that place was Any ideas? Cheers Richard
