  3. Think you mean pawn Mick :D"‹ Richard
  4. Now I'm confused - there are loads of different types! I'm interested in the type that gets played in Northern/Modern venues - want to see what it looks like and know of a couple of classic examples of the sub-genre please Cheers Richard
  5. Cheers Nick Is that the two step that gets done in rare soul clubs these days - or is it the 2step that Benji mentioned above that Craig David etc. made popular - or are they one and the same thing? Cheers Richard
  6. Cheers Benji - so it's like modern soul for old folk Anyone got any video footage please so I can see it Thanks Richard
  7. Anyone tell me what 'Two Step' is please? I'm guessing it is a kind of slow-ish modern-ish soul music defined by some kind of 'two step' dancing - i.e. the music is defined by the type of dance you do (much like 'stomper'). Am I right? Can anyone describe the dancing, or post up video clips showing it please? Cheers Richard
  8. Anyone got any idea who the singers were please? Found a YouTube clip Bit of a "War" type thing going on - huhh! The demo only has this track unfortunately - not "Frantic Escape" on it. Cheers Richard
  9. Agreed, the sound file on the eBay copy sounds rough more or less all the way through Cheers Richard
  10. Good man Geoff - it's the only true way Richard
  11. What do you mean 'mark down'? Does that mean not score 5? Or does it mean score a 4 or a 3? Richard
  12. What's your policy Geoff - OVO? Cheers Richard
  13. I've got a nice multicoloured Carla demo on styrene with black print 'Not For Sale' etc. Quite unusual in that format I think. Cheers Richard
  14. Thanks guys Anyone know who was singing on Crime (Doesn't Pay)? Cheers Richard
  15. The current 'instrumental' thread got me thinking about who the Innocent Bystanders were. On one side of this disc is the iconic Detroit instrumental 'Frantic Escape'. However, the other side is a funky vocal number called 'Crime (Doesn't Pay)'. The vocals sure remind me of someone, but I can't pin it down, and it got me thinking who were the Innocent Bystanders? Hopefully someone on here will know - so thanks in advance for any info Cheers Richard
  16. The Popcorn The Popeye A few years ago on SoulSource some kind person would have volunteered to write up this list alphabetically at the end of the thread so we could all see what had been said Cheers Richard
  17. This one isn't bad as a song - bit later on though - the 'dance craze' craze must have been old hat by then Cheers Richard
  18. What? ... Wombat - I'm Getting On Life? Richard
  19. This one of my favourites and quite hard to pick up in decent condition Very cool, jazzy style Detroit Cheers Richard
  20. Me too mate - fantastic record Richard
  21. When you play that isn't it "Little Bit Of Soul" not "The Cat Walk"? Cheers Richard Try this for "Little Bit Of Soul"
  22. Not that I know of. Cheers Richard
  23. I really like this one - The Soul Partners - Watch Me Now (Sa-Mo) The other side is pretty good too. Cheers Richard https://soundcloud.com/user1502162/soul-partners-watch-me-now-sa
  24. Rob - I'm pretty sure it is actually Steve Mancha - I Don't Want To Lose You (Groovesville) under another title. Cheers Richard
  25. Me too - and the fact it got picked up by Atlantic must say something about how good it is. The local Pameline release has a louder and fuller sound compared to the Atlantic copies Cheers Richard
