Why Don't You Go To All Nighters?
I like to go to both nighters and soul nights and must say have enjoyed each and every one I have gone to this year. Woz supposed to go to Stormin Soul just on Friday, but my car had other ideas i.e. was playing up so didn't dare drive (its going into the garage to get fixed this Thursday - hopefully nothing too serious!!). I don't take any drugs apart from Proplus when I go to nighters, but wouldn't knock anyone who does, each to their own. Obviously when I drive I don't drink either and I do enjoy a drink I can't afford to go out every weekend, as like collecting records and supporting me footie team (Sunderland wah hey) also. I do go out to soul dos most weekends though. Suz x

The Internet
Blimey that reminds me of our local disco for 12-18 year olds in Butterknowle Village Hall (my local village) once a month. Went when I was about 12 in 1983. Used to play a few ACDC/Deep Purple et al records (headbangers turn), then a few chart sounds of time (handbaggers turn), then a couple of records for the Oi/Punk followers then finally it would play something like Frankie Valli "Your Ready Now". There was these lasses who used to dance and they were brilliant, just glided across the floor with a pint in one hand and a ciggie in t'other. They were excellent dancers, well to a 12 year olds eyes. That was my first introduction to soul. There were two discos that used to run the disco "Purple Haze" and wait for it! Slow Motion. I remember Slow Motion used to always break down. Suz x

If You Didnt Know It Was A Pop Song
Yep Kind of a Drag was a number one in America, but did nothing over here. I also like You Misunderstand Me by the Buckinghams posted up on the Sixties Sunday Thread on Media Section by Ken a few weeks ago. Suz x

If You Didnt Know It Was A Pop Song
I agree with Petula Clark, I like "The Other Man's Grass is Always Greener" and I still like "Don't Sleep in the Subway." Another record to put forward is The Buckinghams "Susan." Suz x

E-bay Seller
Over the last few years have got copies of: Tabby Thomas "Popeye Train" for $6 Little Jimmy Ray "You Need to Fall In Love" for $30 Have bought other records off Craig also and have never had a problem with shipping/postage/packaging or anything. The longest time incidently I have ever had to wait for a record was 6 weeks and that was coming from Germany. I emailed the guy and he emailed me back and said he hadn't posted it yet as he wasn't a professional seller I felt like emailing him and saying I am not a professional buyer, but I paid ya straightaway!! If You Didnt Know It Was A Pop Song
I know it was a hit in 1968, but Dorian Gray "I've Got You On My Mind". Great words to that song, particularly the bit where sings "The world has been a much much better place/theres a smile on every face and the sun shines through when I look at you." Likewise the Lovin Spoonful "Do You Believe in Magic". I know it ain't soulful like, but I love Helen Shapiro's "Today Has Been Cancelled" from 1969 too. Suz x
