  1. Phillip James - Keep on lovin - Longwood M- NOW SOLD
  2. For me it's too light and lacking the raw emotion that the lyrics need, there is no hurt in his voice. But each to his own.
  3. Personally I don't see a problem with comments in the sales section, although I'd not post a negative comment if the price was above the usual asking price because I just think it's rude. People are,for the most part pretty clued in on the price of stuff they want. What I would like to see is the sales page become a set sale page. In the last few years more and more "offers" have crept in, these are really auctions and I think they should have a section of their own.
  4. It's a beautiful record, though paying $300 for a copy in G condition seems crazy to me. I'd understand $30....
  5. https://cgi.ebay.com/...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT I can't believe people would throw away their money like this
  6. the few that have gone on ebay have been vg though, if memory serves
  7. What do you mean you didn't like it Mal, you went mad for it when I played it to you. I didn't pay big for mine either but as they say "it's right for todays sound" and it is a hard one to turn up.... and soul Sam is spinning it these days.
  8. Such a great 45, I'd not part with mine. Curious to know what you got for it Paul, I know Greg Tormo got $600 us last year for one.
  9. I think it's a great record and as a Lavine production very restrained and actually sounds like a 70's record. I picked it up on a site last year having listened to a sound clip and like Hammersmith thought it was on Tal Armstrongs label and I'd bought a boot. It's a shame Mr Lavine doesn't do more stuff like this.
  10. she's still got her pipes! Where can you get this?
  11. I don't think I have all of them, gonna have to check them off by name to make certain. Have to say though that it's the best swap I've done in terms of new tunes and jogging my memory for stuff I'd written down on long ago wants lists.
  12. Pete, I should have clarified, I know you cant use bootleg on ebay but I'm seeing this on lists and sites not subject to the machinations of ebay. If it's a boot why not say so?
  13. I've noticed a few English dealers are using 2nd press or 2nd issue when the records in question are in fact bootlegs or non legitimate represses. So what's the deal with this? It seems somewhat underhanded. There are so many legit 2nd issues out there that it just muddies the waters and makes me a bit uneasy about buying off them. I mean, can you then trust the gradings. Why are they not just calling a spade a spade?
  14. Anyone care to make an offer, thought this price was right but no takers
  15. Here's a new mix hosted by the Hot Buttered Soul boys. Enjoy! https://www.mixcloud.com/hotbutteredsoul/miss-goldie-im-a-believer/
  16. Phillip James - Keep on loving - Longwood M- Condition 300 quid Stunning crossover gem that's hard to turn up, reluctant sale to fund a want. Paypal only as "gift" and I'll pay registered postage from oz PM or email me at goldiefunkt@yahoo.com Thanks for looking
  17. Thanks for the photo's and info!
  18. I really love the unique phrasing of the singer. Who is it and did they front any other bands? cheers:thumbsup:

And having been pressed at the Ohio pressing plant, like all the MoDo 45's with the Ohio "flower" design the sound quality is great. And this is nearly half the price as seen on a soul site....

It's a pop record, I have never understood the love of this tune. Although I understand it from a collector perspective. It's the record I site when saying "just because it's rare, doesn't mean it's good"
  22. I can't count the number of times that a JM auction has run a 45 that's on ebay at the same time and gone for double the ebay price. He has a loyal following who seem to trust him rather than unknown sellers, lucky for him. Personally I find his grading inconsistent and postage to Australia the highest of any dealer (double the actual price) His price guides are what I'd like if I was selling a record I must say
  23. Bugger. I didn't try it myself... I've got the CD
  24. https://www.kudosrecords.co.uk/index.php?page=detail&product=FSR7062 This has a great, very catchy chorus. It's been swirling round my head for days! Superb horns....now if someone can tell me what the hell it reminds me of I'd be greatful, it's on the tip of my tongue. There is a solid trend started by the Bamboo's of Australian funk bands putting out lovely sweet soul on their records. Dojo Cuts has a blinder of a deepie on their LP and now the Transatlantics with this. Me likey
