Ever Been An All-Nighter At Preston Guild Hall?
There used to be one in the eighties (85-87 ish I think) down a street of Fishergate. The street was very steep so you went in up a set of steps to a low room. Smashing events, attended by a small loyal.crowd. We used to go down from Barrow in a couple of cars and meet up with Rick and a few others from Kirkham. Phil T was also a regular, usually coming down with me. Fond memories. Worth another go??

Edward Hamilton - Baby Don't You Weep
A Bootleg will do - anyone got one?

Edward Hamilton - Baby Don't You Weep
Just for clarity - my existing scratched version is on a black and white Mary Jane, not red and white. I believe it to be an issue, and I've had it over 20 years. I want to replace it for DJing and listening to generally, so another issue will do fine. If I'm sat on a scratched record worth £200-300 if it was mint then I'll look at having it restored, but as I've had offers of around £20-30 when I posted this previously (but no takers that called back anyway!) I think I can get one for that price. Any advice?? Ta, Rog

Just found my copy of Baby Don't You Weep scratched to buggery after a gig at Christmas - anyone got a pressing in good nick as I don't have the £200 or so knocking around for the original? Roger

Gil - I'd love to get up and spin a few if possible. Offer of kip greatly appreciated too. I know Joe Corrance too, have done for years - played at a gig with him a couple of years back but I thought he'd packed it all in now? Still, as I live 300 miles away from Barrow now I'm probably not up to date! I'm back up there 30th Jan for a night, and doing a set at Newbury FC in the new year too, as well as Basingstoke SC Christmas do. It would be great to come up and see what you guys are into now though, and maybe renew a few old acquaintances. I'll be in touch when I'm next working up Scotland and see if I can tag a Friday in Greenock onto the trip! Take care mate. KTF. Rog

Gilbert - bloody great to hear from you. This thread keeps me misty eyed again and again. Its good to know some of the old lads are still around and doing it. How's the scene up there? I still spin the odd few tunes myself and am back in Barrow on 9th Oct to attend a reunion of the Youth Club where I cut my teeth on Northern Soul. I remember the Old Scone night when we travelled for what seemed like days to get there, and you and the rest of the crew treated us like royalty for making the effort. Bloody great memories. If you ever have a night on let me know! BTW, would I be right in assuming where the Pineapple element came from?????? KTF Roger

Early 80,s
Hi Chris, Some great memories. My first nighter there I drove down with Mike, you and Mike Collins in the back of my car. I managed a few good nigts on the pills I found dropped down the back of the seats!!!! Looking forward to getting back up there before Christmas......preferably to spin a few if theres a Soul Night on. If you know of any where I can get a spot let me know. Pass on my regards to your Mike and the rest of the family. Roger
