LLandudno earlier this year was a good one, very few Wigan oldies played there, most on here would have enjoyed it, as I did. 2 large rooms and just at the right capacity, upstairs was for the live bands and whatever else goes. Hello John Re Syl Johnson: My red No 200 has the full intro and includes horns etc and has an extra drum beat throughout the record, which is unlike the yellow one. Played it once at a mates birthday do and Rod Shard hadn't heard this version before with the extra beat going through. If this is different to other red ones let me know and I will post a clip. Someone once told me the red was the rarest of the two issues. Hope this helps Dunc

  14. Ok all, yes the other side is "better Than Anyone" but "just a Little Step" is the A side and yes it is just a plain green label as mentioned (maybe as it is a demo copy). Just another obscurity, but worth a play imho. Thanks for the input Keep soulin Dunc (middle aged mod according to the bbc!!!) or is it middle aged soulie
  15. Thanks for that. If anyone else knows whether it has ever been played I'd be grateful Dunc
  16. Oooops , forgot to mention that it is called "Just a Little Step" Haven't got Manship's guide, anyone? Dunc
  17. Have only found references for this one on discographies and no other soundbytes etc. Same label but No2. Very similar backing to Sweet Lover (not as good, but interesting) Anyone any more info? Dunc

It's supposed to be an LP track only. Have seen other tracks from this on 45 but not Keep on Climbing. However, I did see a studio acetate single for sale on ebay (from the US) and the seller stated that it was the same track but a different take. It went for around $200. Was in the last couple of years. I prefer their version of Just Walk in My Shoes from this album, pretty good stuff for blue eyed soul. Dunc
  19. Freddie Scott - Mr Heartache. Original on Styrene later released on vinyl. Columbia pressed 45s in BOTH vinyl and styrene on a number of titles, Freddie Scott styrene and vinyl are both originals. Hi John nice to see you on here and appreciate your comments. Would the vinyl copy of Freddie Scott still be matrix stamped, as the two copies that I have seen at £10 each were not stamped and very thin 70's style plastic. ie, you could bend them and the run out grooves were like boots (lots of em). Dunc
  20. Defo King Bee for me. Les is a really nice guy and his prices are right. You will not be disappointed, have been dealing with him for years. Dunc
  21. Ask him if it is Bell Sound Stamped. Have seen goog looking boots before on this label by different artists. If it's stamped it's gotta be right. And it is reserve not met.
  22. Being more British then, the Canadians must have used our techniques and used Vinyl. All the Canadian issues are orange like our CBS subsiduary and the sound quality is better. I have a Big Maybelle- Can't Wait any Longer on a UK CBS demo and the sound quality on my Canadian Columbia is much clearer. The answer could be East/West coast production. Dunc
  23. Have found one in vinyl. Kenny Gamble "OUR LOVE/ You know what you got... and it's a proper one. I am now as confused as you. All that I can say is that the Freddie Scott re-issue is not ZSP stamped and made out of very thin flexible plastic. This is stamped and very thick (Like Me). I Will get my coat!!! dunc
