Broadway Cissy
I don't think it was ever booted. (One that escaped the net) I will post an image tomorrow of what it should look like and a description of the writing on the run out. It does have the date etched into it in american style layout. ie not dd/mm/yyyy but some other way round

Broadway Cissy
Have not seen one of these on any set sale lists over the last ten years. Will be interesting to see how much one would be now. I have, however, seen an odd one on ebay (Cannot remember how much) what does the Manship Price guide say?

Stafford Revival Tunes
Quite correct. I have just been browsing around other sections of this Forum and found someone asking exactly the same question on the 1st of April (I'm a silly fool) Usually I only look at the Sales section. The answers are all there. If you have an original Scepter 45 it wails over the horns section near the end. All other versions are from the 80's LP's or pressings. One of the best 45's from the Stafford Era.

Stepping Out Of The Picture
- Stafford Revival Tunes
There is. But it is the same as the Acetate that they played at Stafford. The same take is on the UK Soul City 45( B side of bricks broken bottles and sticks). I have been on several sites and they all play the same. Apparently, they played it from an Acetate because someone gained access to the Wand/Scepter Studios in the 80's and came back with the tapes.- Warren's Wants - Number 728
I have a Celeste Hardie. PM me with anything of interest that you may wish to swap. I would only be interested in something similar.- Stafford Revival Tunes
Johnny Maestro 'Im Stepping Out Of The Picture' was played at Stafford from an acetate(so I am informed). Does anybody have the original issue and does it differ from the acetate, ie. has a wailing woman singing over the horns section near the end?- Frank Wilson - Do I Love You - Dct Recorders Los A
Someone correct me if I am wrong. I remember the time before tapes and cd's were available, that you could walk into an American record store and go into a booth. You could listen to songs and if you wanted could pay to record the disc to probably an acetate disc. Is this where Simon "DISCOVERED" his records?????- Reggae/rocksteady Cd's For Prestatyn
Hello Pete. Not interested in Reggae, but if you are looking for certain records on either UK or Jamaican labels then let me know.- Sales
STOP WINKING YOU ARE DOING MY HEAD IN!!!!!!!!!!!! ISSUE MUST BE WORTH £250 THEN.........- Yvonne Baker - I Can't Change
Most of the issues of this record came in the soul packs in the 70's as was Funny Feeling (George Wydell) and Baby Take a Chance on Me (Jack Montgomery). Everything is going up in price these days- Celeste Hardie
A non runner in need of work and restoration maybe OK depending on condition. It does not have to be a TV or SX. I may even consider a 150cc. Dunc- Celeste Hardie
I have an original You're Gone by Celeste Hardie on Reynolds Records. The condition is VG++. It has some very light crackles (in the background) in the first 30 seconds of play other than that brill. There are some light surface marks which are usual for the age of the 45. The B side crackles alot but who cares (needs cleaning probably). I have owned it since 1976 not knowing then that only 50 copies existed in the UK. There will be more now but how many who knows. I am looking to consider swapping this for a 1960's 200cc Italian Lambretta. If you have one that is laying dormant in your garage then leave a reply (V5 is a must and all the chassis numbers must tally) Dunc- High Keys bootleg?
ps. If I get the time I will dig out a real Verve demo and the High Keys boot from the collection and show images of the difference Dunc- High Keys bootleg?
The bootleg of this 45 is a light blue label copy of the dark blue Verve label. If it was a right one it would have SPECIAL DISC JOCKEY RECORD in a semi circle in large print under the Verve heading, going from one side of the label to the other. The bootleg does not say this. I think it has also been pressed on the yellow label Dunc- The Showmen - Take It Baby
BB is definately the first label before Swan. However, someone brought in lots of brand new unplayed BB copies in the Nineties. Probably a warehouse find. What a brill sound it is. Dunc- Is 60s Northern Soul vinyl a wise Investment ?
12 months ago a friend of mine was talking to a certain record dealer on the phone. He said that certain customers were buying records and then selling them twelve months later for a profit. They were buying high end sounds because they could earn more money (Interest) in twelve months than buying and selling Gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The records that we are buying and selling now (from the sixties) are now 40 years old and can never be replaced as the supplies of originals will eventually dry up (demand is now worldwide). Prices will definately increase due to this. If you have alternative views on this I would like to know. Even buying an original US record for £5 has to be an investment, surely Dunc ps. my children enjoy listening to the sounds, so, will Northern ever end?- Freddie Scott
Freddie Scott "Mr Heartache" is now about £75, but beware it has been issued twice. The difference is that the original has the ZTSC matrix stamp on it. The reissue is probably about a tenner. I saw one last week Dunc- Little help
You can buy The Dreamlovers 45 on Mercury from Beating Rhythm at Manchester. I have seen several copies there. It is Either £10 or £15. Give them a ring and tell them to look in the boxes on the counter. Dunc ps It is a good sound - Stafford Revival Tunes
