Who Discovered What ?
I have no idea on dates I'll ask Clarkie who was with me. Defo 70s and I can't see the shop dropping the price from $100 to $10 after they'd sold one, much more likely t'other way round.

Who Discovered What ?
It wouldn't have been the first one, I had 5 out of there for about $5-10 but I can't remember if they were the first, sold 'em to Sam and Ginger and others at St Ives, Got half a dozen New York In The Darks from there too.

Who Discovered What ?
It's a great thread in that any disputes have been caused by our failing memories and a consensus has been arrived at. It's very kind that nobody's mentioned Tony Blackburn

Bill Moss On Westbound
That'll be tough Baz, the owner is 100% true but about 10% technological!

Shizzle, Tony did that one too, I NEED it!

Sorry Kev, I'd forgotten you weren't around in those days were you.

Who Discovered What ?
Dave will know but again I thought it came out of this incredible trunk load of 45s Dave Burton got off Cas from Warners in 1971. i also thought the original Cooperettes came from there but perhaps it was the second or third.

Who Discovered What ?
Yes as one side of one of the early anniversary freebies as I discovered it in NYC on an original acetate and it had no name or writers or anything and we thought it was unissued and would never turn up. It must have taken 8 years before it did turn up.

Who Discovered What ?
Kiki Dee was me to Clarkie. Terrific Randazzo Weinstein song in the only known recorded version. I'm not sure whether I did Too Many People too, Ian Clarke might remember.

Who Discovered What ?
Put me down for Burning Bush, great record and what a symbolic title.

Who Discovered What ?
Mick's not having that one, he threw it away! i thought it went to Clarkie but you could well be right. In Mick's defence he did discover a little tune called Landslide

Who Discovered What ?
Dave Burton not Dave Rivers had the second copy (or was it the first?) of Fullers, sold to Minsh at the Torch for about £60, I don't think Dave R would have had the first. Pete Wid persuaded Roger Stewart to play Esther Philips down the 100 Club first and Ted Taylor on Okeh about the same time.

Pat Lundy "could That Someone Be You"
Can you stick some sound up on it (are we allowed to do that?) I think I've got a different take of it.
-
Who Discovered What ?
Not me as far as I remember, maybe Ian Clark or Tony Rounce who worked there as well.

Though the producer Billy Jackson says it was Tommy Keith.

Instrumentals That Are Better Than The Vocals
Yeah sorry the group were later called the Waves but were the Tandells at the time of recording the original from which the backing track was used as Double Cookin'. Damn right on the OVO too.

Instrumentals That Are Better Than The Vocals
Bobby Wells The Psychedelic Theme (but I love Let's Cop A Groove too, so I'm cheating). Not sure how The Magicians is dire Simon, fair enough if you prefer the instrumental but it's a full on great vocal group performance with excellent lyrics; technically the Waves 'Is It Love Baby' was the original I think. Pete there is a Rita inst out on Kent Select, I'm not sure if that's what Paul sent you.

The Fascinations.. Just Another Reason
Masterpiece and shouldn't cost you more than a tenner, it's quite a common record.

Alan Pollard R.i.p
Oh dear; terrible news. A true collector who was always happy to share his knowledge and enthusiasm.

Walter Wilson
And still not bragging, I discovered that first one in Billy Jackson's flat, years after I'd put it out on CD. The tape box had Walter Johnson and the label had Walter Wilson but neither are correct, it's actually Tommy Keith. The flip is superb and is also out on CDKEND 149, the dancer is on 104

Walter Wilson
i don't like to brag:lol: but first played by me off a master tape.
