  1. I also love the Donnie Brooks. 3 I'm playing at the moment that are so fast I rev 'em down about 4 and they still sound mental: Lilly Fields Changes, Adam Ross Whatever's Right and Nancy Wilcox's version of He'll Be Leaving You, all will be spun tomorrow. The Little Willie John goes at a fair old lick too!
  2. Thanks John, our number is from the company's documents but you never know, I've Emailed Sir Shambling.
  3. It's That Man Again Anyone got it or know of it existing? Ady
  4. Some are good some are rubbish, you start off accepting them all, flattered by the interest and exposure and then you get a bit pickier. The best one on the 100 Club was a 10 minute London news item I remember Marva Josie singing Don't. The best on Cleethorpes was Elaine Constantine's one that wasn't ever broadcast.
  5. Patrick had to be switched at the last minute for REO Speedwagon (I thought it was a Riker delivery van) so the acetate will remain exclusive for now.
  6. Whoops, PM me again with your address please. See Phil, I'm useless!
  7. Thanks Baz, it was a hell of a lot of hard work negotiating it all once Jerry Purcell had died. If the Exception are white, it must be one of the best deep blue eyed soul numbers ever!
  8. Hi Ian, That's good news, I think you answered the right of Rob to pass it on in your own description of events:P. The rest of the Pied Piper's are mainly the Nancy Wilcox, which are the ones I sold James T and Ginger and the 'More Than A Memory' that Phil posted up, which is a total one-off. Lilly is the only one that wasn't RCA as well as GWP/Pied piper. Since I did the RCA CDs I did manage to get some genuine acetates from the publishers.
  9. Hi Rod, It does take an age to break a new sound, but I'm not sure if that many of the "Upfront crowd" really buy CDs or new vinyl. There aren't many big name DJs I can think of who would play it off vinyl when everyone and anyone can get it; witness what Phil said about kudos. I gave Keb an acetate of Changes to play to his young funkyish crowd so when we do it on vinyl we might see if that helped. feel free to offer suggestions on the best way of promoting new old music. Ady
  10. No silly bo*****s, that's not my line. There's a scan of the master tape box in the booklet.
  11. Yes Benji I played it then.
  12. Hi Phil, I agree, i wish someone had plugged this beforehand, I'm sorry if I ignored your PM, I had a period of about two years when i was incredibly busy and deluged with Emails, PMs, accounts etc and yours must have arrived mid crisis. I thought I was playing it before I'd been on the Searling show, I certainly have had the acetate for that long. I don't think anyone else but you has ever asked for a cut of this, it takes a long time for people to catch on to a record nowadays. If it's a great record though you'd still get the kudos for breaking it in your particular area. Ady
  13. The Devonnes is the same as Terri bryant and equally as good, if a tad slower, but you're talking about the GWP 1st CD which is still brilliant, but Lilly's 'Changes' is on the new Vol 2 out last month (which is even more brilliant!).
  14. I hope not, or I'm out of a job. It's a stonking Pied Piper production done in Detroit for GWP. Feel free to DJ off carvers or we might just get round to putting it on Kent Select eventually. Thanks for the positive comments, it took some negotiating! I'd post it but have no idea how to, the rest of the CD has some corkers too, check out Bobby Penn's 'Without Your Love'.
  15. Hi Pete, it's a one-off original 1966 RCA acetate that I got from the publishers GWP about 8 years ago and sold James about 3 years ago. It's scheduled for the next RCA CD, but that's dragging its heels. It should be out in early 2010.
  16. Wow, that's probably what Vol 2 was, it's a shame there isn't a picture. Who would have thought I'd be searching for cassettes! Cheers Ady
  17. Dancer but someone would have to give me a job.
  18. Does anyone have this as the flip of 'To Lay Down Beside You' on a UK Spring label # 113?
  19. Sorry I should have said a kind SSer sent me one which arrived today. I think thats probably the only Volume. Vol 2 was mooted for 1985 but I think they weren't operating by then. Thanks
  20. Yes the Finnish company Timmion have licensed the tracks from Ace. I'm very happy with this as it's a lovely tribute to Ann to have a vinyl album exclusively of her songs (though there is one instrumental). It wasn't feasible for us to do it as there weren't enough tracks for an Ace LP but the Europeans and Americans are used to shorter play LP. Ace will be wholesaling some of the pressings if anyone is interested.
  21. I've passed on the info to higher authorities, though they haven't done anything specifically that we own as far as I can see. But they have done stuff we've got strong licenses on. Thanks for spotlighting it. Ady
  22. I'm not alright for either of the Posse label "Joe Simo's Greatest Hits Vol 1 & 2". If anyone has either i would really appreciate a loan. ta Ady
  23. Thanks Kevin, will have a gander at it tomorrow. Ady
