Reissues - good or bad for the value of Originals
That's all understandable from the collector's point of view. In an ideal world I'd hang on to stuff longer before putting them out but a) not many travel to rare soul venues any more, b) few other DJs want to plug a record for long if they know it's gonna come out (unless it's a really obviously big one) and c) it's often hard to get exclusive rights and there are plenty of bootleggers and semi-legal companies out there who would love to beat you to the punch on a release. In fact we're putting one out soon that I hadn't planned on but didn't want to be pre-empted by a competitor who may lack respect for the source.

Sad News RIP Cockney Mick Webb
He had a lot of bottle too, I remember him fucking off a gang of funkateers who were taking the piss at a small Northern do at Crackers in the early 70s

rosetta johnson on na-r-co; 1961
Brilliant, that's exactly what I want. Thanks very much Ady

News: Together with Belle & Sebastian - Peckham Soul Interview
I worked out the Mary Love, it was a podcast they did or summat. Used the Modern version, not one they covered.

Sad News RIP Cockney Mick Webb
An 'ornery old soul pioneer of the Northern scene down south. Dedicated and knowledgeable and nobody's fool. It was a pleasure to have known him and I'm very sad he's gone.

Loma: A Soul Music Love Affair - Vinyl Box Set
Steve answered you Chalky. I'm sure you'll probably by the LP anyway but just to let you know it's going to be on a Kent 7" you'll want to buy for the A side alone The LPs were compiled by Alec Palao, the man who turned up the Magicians vocal to Double Cookin' and many other great Northern discoveries

Tutti Hill When The Going Gets Rough
Early days of 6ts and the last but one Soul Prescription. It's gonna be promoted to a 100 club last half-hourer now too!

Tutti Hill When The Going Gets Rough
Thanks and another couple of volunteers have all said mis-press only

Tutti Hill When The Going Gets Rough
Same here Rob, another reason why I'd love you to find a record player. I'd have thought it would have been a priority for you!
-
Tutti Hill When The Going Gets Rough
Nice try Robb, but I'll need it confirming before I could say it exists as such. Are you sure the light scratching says 420? Mine looks a bit that way but I don't think it actually is; it's more like two numbers on top of each other.
-
Tutti Hill When The Going Gets Rough
It does. It shows us the relative amounts of each press, if Robb confirms his plays WTGGR Thanks

Tutti Hill When The Going Gets Rough
Funnily enough my colleague has a copy that plays Baby Take It Slow but doesn't have the (-2) at the end. Confused: I am

Tutti Hill When The Going Gets Rough
Mine has the same AR marking but it doesn't look like 420. Presumably you played it? If so there are two different records. Thanks

Styrene West Coast; Vinyl East Coast??
Thanks, I think the West Coast being mainly styrene theory has had its day
-
Tutti Hill When The Going Gets Rough
Exactly, that's 3 out of 3 so far. The good news is When The Going Gets Rough might be unissued. Thanks

John Venn (Esher) R.I.P
I'm sorry to hear this; we used to talk each others ears off at Wigan-I think, and he used to come down to London a lot too. Smashing lad.

Tutti Hill When The Going Gets Rough
Come on folks, this is quite interesting, do you have an unreleased side in your collection or the one as advertised on the label? When The Going Gets Rough is a great little dancer too!

Styrene West Coast; Vinyl East Coast??
In a recent article about his new book Stuart Cosgrove reckoned that this was the general trend. I've not found it that way, i think it's a pretty even split. What do collectors on here think?
